出口: Lord Malloch-Brown is to step 負かす/撃墜する at the end of the month

Gordon Brown was dealt a その上の blow yesterday after another of the 大臣s he 任命するd from outside 議会 left his 地位,任命する.

Lord Malloch-Brown, one of the いわゆる 'goats' (政府 Of All the Talents), is standing 負かす/撃墜する as Foreign Office 大臣 at the end of the month.

The peer 主張するd his 出発 was for 'strong personal and family 推論する/理由s' and not because of a 不和 with the 総理大臣.

But his 決定/判定勝ち(する) will be 損失ing to Mr Brown, に引き続いて closely behind a 一連の high-profile 辞職s in 最近の weeks.

Of the four 非,不,無-政治家,政治屋s he brought into 政府 when he became 首相 two years ago, only two remain.

A fifth, former Ofcom boss Lord Carter, who was brought in last October, has also 発表するd he will step 負かす/撃墜する. All will keep their peerages for life, even though they have only served in 政府 for a 事柄 of months.

The 自由主義の 民主党員s said the 最新の 出発 証明するd Mr Brown's 行政 was running out of steam.

示す Malloch Brown, a former 新聞記者/雑誌記者 and 副 長官 general of the 国際連合, was ennobled and brought into the 政府 in June 2007.

But there have been 執拗な rumours of 緊張s between him and his boss, foreign 長官 David Miliband, who is 11 years his junior.

He annoyed Mr Miliband soon after his 任命 when he said in an interview: 'It's 罰金 for me to be, for the first time in my life, the older 人物/姿/数字: the wise eminence behind the young foreign 長官.'

And he soon embarrassed the 首相 when he said Mr Brown would not be 'joined together at the hip' with George Bush, 'like the Blair-Bush 関係'.

In a 声明, Lord Malloch-Brown 否定するd he was unhappy with the way 労働's fortunes were going.

'I have always said that I would not do this 職業 forever,' he said. 'And I have strong personal and family 推論する/理由s for moving on at this time.

'I (機の)カム into 政府 as a professional, not a 政治家,政治屋. My 決定/判定勝ち(する) to step 負かす/撃墜する at the end of July is not in any way a commentary on the political 状況/情勢.

'I 大いに admire the 総理大臣 and continue to support him and his 政府.

'I joined the 政府 at his 招待 to help 促進する his international 優先s.

'It has been a 広大な/多数の/重要な 特権 to do that, and to work with him and with David Miliband.'

As Africa 大臣, Lord Malloch-Brown played a central 役割 in 交渉s over how to 取り組む Robert Mugabe's 政権 in Zimbabwe.

But he also attracted 批評 over his 占領/職業 of a grace-and-favour home in Whitehall.

Last October another goat, Lord Digby Jones, the former 長,率いる of the 連合 of British 産業, also stepped 負かす/撃墜する as 貿易(する) 大臣 afte r just 18 months.

And Lord Carter 発表するd last month he will step 負かす/撃墜する as communications and broadcasting 大臣.

It leaves only two of the 初めの goats: 安全 大臣 Lord West, the former First Sea Lord; and health 大臣 Lord Darzi, who is also a 外科医.

In the past month the 総理大臣 has been 攻撃する,衝突する by a number of high profile 出発s, 含むing home 長官 Jacqui Smith, communities 長官 Hazel Blears and work and 年金s 長官 James Purnell.

'His support in 準備するing the G20 London 首脳会議 確実にするd that the 計画(する)s 始める,決める out enjoyed the widest possible international support.'

Last night 自由主義の 民主党員 外務 広報担当者 Ed Davey said: 'Lord Malloch Brown was a breath of fresh 空気/公表する in the 政府 and the Foreign Office, and his 出発 leaves Brown and Miliband even 女性.'
