Drivers 激突する '光学の illusion' 2D 速度(を上げる) bumps painted along busy school-run to slow スピード違反 traffic as an '絶対の waste of paint' - after old humps 原因(となる)d 損失 to cars

  • 地元の drivers 爆破 '光学の illusion' 速度(を上げる) bumps that they know are not real

運転者s have slammed 偽の 速度(を上げる) bumps painted along a busy school-run to look like real ones an '絶対の waste of paint' as 地元のs just ignore them.

The 事実上の 2D humps were designed to slow 負かす/撃墜する スピード違反 drivers along a road 主要な to two schools in Swanscombe, Kent, 取って代わるing 固める/コンクリート bumps that has 損失d cars over the years.

But 居住(者)s have 爆破d the new '光学の illusion' 速度(を上げる) bumps because?地元のs know they are not real.

Arriva bus driver?Katie Bell 運動s along the road more than 50 times a day and (人命などを)奪う,主張するs the 2D road cushions, which 行為/法令/行動する like an 光学の illusion, do little to slow 負かす/撃墜する traffic.

The 46-year-old said: 'It is an 絶対の waste of white paint.?

'People 速度(を上げる) along there as they know there aren't bumps. I've heard drivers beep others because they are 運動ing too slowly over them.

'I can't やめる believe they (機の)カム up with the idea in the first place.'

Traffic has 増加するd over the last two months に引き続いて a 地滑り on a nearby major road, which has 軍隊d it to の近くに for 18 months.

With the 量 of congestion she sees every day, Ms Bell believes there may be better ways to 支配(する)/統制する the flow, such as 築くing more 調印するs 警告 of schools.

She 追加するd: 'That road gets crazy busy even at a 行き詰まり during school 減少(する) off/選ぶ ups so it would make more sense to have more 警告 調印するs that there's a school and 居住の area to 静める 負かす/撃墜する the traffic a tad, but the 2D bumps are pointless.'

One 居住(者), Joanne Hales, thinks there needs to be a proper zebra crossing where people can cross over the one remaining hump.

She said: 'The thing that 関心s me is that many 歩行者s assume the large hump is a crossing. They just step out without looking and 推定する/予想する all the cars to stop. One day it's going to 原因(となる) an almighty 事故.

'If it is a crossing then it should be 調印するd so with 黒人/ボイコット and white lines and orange flashing lights like you would see on a crossing. That way both parties know what to 推定する/予想する.'

However, she does not …に反対する the 事実上の bumps.

She 追加するd: 'They're good. I still find myself ブレーキing in 準備するing for the 揺さぶる even though the other bumps are gone. The 外傷/ショック is still there.'

Some 居住(者)s were even excited to hear about the 計画(する)s to introduce the 2D humps after complaining about the ferocity of the old 固める/コンクリート bumps.

Ms Hales said: 'The bumps were dreadful. They were too high and did lots of 損失 to lots of people's cars over the years.'

Councilor Peter Harman, from Swanscombe & Greenhi the 居住(者)s' 協会 and 代表するs the area on Kent 郡 会議, said 居住(者)s are unhappy.

He said he had been relaying 居住(者)s' 関心s to 郡 Hall for the past two years as the 10cm high 速度(を上げる) bumps were leaving 居住(者)s unhappy.

He was 最初 delighted at the 提案するd traffic 静めるing 手段 but he now believes they are not enough.

事実上の 速度(を上げる) humps were first introduced by 輸送(する) for London in 2014 to create an '光学の illusion, appearing raised to drivers as they approach, giving the impression that 速度(を上げる) humps 嘘(をつく) ahead'.

It is part of a 戦略 to 支配(する)/統制する 速度(を上げる)s without the use of bumps, humps and lumps.

They (人命などを)奪う,主張する the physical 介入s have a number of drawbacks, 含むing an 増加する in traffic noise and 汚染 as drivers 絶えず change their 速度(を上げる).

RAC road safety 広報担当者 Simon Williams said: '明確に, 絵 mock 速度(を上げる) humps is 意味ありげに cheaper for any cash-strapped 会議 than making physical changes to the road, but the 危険 is that drivers 意図 on スピード違反 quickly realise they're not real and continue to break the 速度(を上げる) 限界.

'Having said that, with scant 予算 利用できる to them arguably some 介入 by a 会議 like this is better than 非,不,無 at all - so long as the 場内取引員/株価s are kept painted.'

When they were first painted in 2019, a 広報担当者 for Kent 郡 会議 (KCC) said: 'We 心配する more psychological traffic-静めるing 対策 存在 器具/実施するd at 場所/位置s across the 郡 which 目的(とする) to encourage a 削減 in 乗り物 速度(を上げる) through changing the driver's perception of the road 環境.'
