A left-wing 市長 やめる 労働 today with an 爆発性の attack on Sir Keir Starmer.

Jamie Driscoll, 市長 for North of Tyne, 発表するd he was leaving the party に引き続いて a bitter 列／漕ぐ／騒動 over his 立候補 for an 拡大するd devolved 役割.

The former engineer was last month 閉めだした from standing for 労働 in the contest to become North East 市長 from next year.

Mr Driscoll this afternoon 発表するd he had やめる 労働 and would be 追求するing 成果／努力s to stand as an 独立した・無所属 候補者 for North East 市長.

He 配達するd a stinging rebuke of Sir Keir in his 辞職 letter as he 爆破d the? 労働 leader over 'broken 約束s'.

'It is not grown-up politics to say Britain is broken and then （人命などを）奪う，主張する things are now so difficult we will abandon any 計画（する） to 直す／買収する，八百長をする it,' the 市長 wrote to Sir Keir.

'That is mental 体操 worthy of Olympic gold.'

Mr Driscoll has often been 述べるd as the 'last Corbynista in 力／強力にする' in his 役割 as North of Tyne 市長, to which he was elected in May 2019.

His devolved 地域 is 予定 to become part of a larger North East 市長の 連合させるd 当局 from next May.

After 存在 封鎖するd from running as 労働's 候補者 for the new 市長の 役割, Mr Driscoll is now 始める，決める to run as an 独立した・無所属.

He 設立するd a （選挙などの）運動をする fundraising page today that raised an 初期の £25,000 in under two hours.

In his 辞職 letter to Sir Keir, Mr Driscoll wrote: 'It is with a 激しい heart and 深い 失望 that I am leaving the 労働 Party.

'I will now serve the people of Newcastle, North Tyneside and Northumberland as the 独立した・無所属 North of Tyne 市長.

'Given you have 閉めだした me from running as North East 市長, にもかかわらず 存在 現職の 市長, I have no other choice.

'In 2020 you told me to my 直面する that you would '奮起させる people to come together … disciplining people to be 部隊d is going nowhere'. You've broken that 約束.

'You've U-turned on so many 約束s: £28 billion to 取り組む the 気候 緊急, 解放する／自由な school meals, ending university tuition 料金s, 逆転するing NHS privatisation; in fact, a 名簿（に載せる）／表（にあげる） of broken 約束s too long to repeat in this letter.

'Please stop 説 'I make no 陳謝s for…' before you find yourself 説 'I make no 陳謝s for making no 陳謝s'.

人物／姿／数字s on 労働's left have?非難するd 'factionalism' under Sir Keir's leadership for the 活動／戦闘 against Mr Driscoll.

答える／応じるing to his rdeparture from the party, a 労働 spokesperson said: 'The 労働 Party is delighted that 地元の party members have selected Kim McGuinness as our 候補者 for the North East 市長の 選挙 next year.

'With Keir Starmer as leader, the 労働 Party is a changed party, relentlessly focussed on 配達するing for working people, and we make no 陳謝s that 労働 候補者s are held to the highest 基準.

'The Tories have let our 地域 負かす／撃墜する, and as 労働 市長, Kim will be the strong 発言する／表明する the North East deserves.'

Asked about 告訴，告発s of a 粛清する of 労働's 左翼 under Sir Keir, 影をつくる／尾行する home 長官 Yvette Cooper told BBC 無線で通信する 4's World At One programme: 'We've always been a party that has people from all sorts of different 見解（をとる）s and 視野s and that needs to continue, that's really important to who we are.

'It's also important that we 焦点（を合わせる） together on making sure we've got 広大な／多数の／重要な 候補者s to stand for 選挙 and also that we're ready to be able to try and form a 労働 政府.'
