He ran to be the 労働 MP for Reigate in 2005 and then again for the Bristol North West seat in 2010. He lost both seats to the 保守的なs.

Commenting yesterday on the Mail's 爆発性の 調査 which showed lawyers willing to make 偽の 亡命 （人命などを）奪う，主張するs for 違法な 移民，移住（する）s, Sunak said: 'This is what we're up against.
'The 労働 Party, a subset of lawyers, 犯罪の ギャング（団）s - they're all on the same 味方する, propping up a system of 開発／利用 that 利益（をあげる）s from getting people to the UK 不法に.'
In 返答, Mr Townend said: 'Lawyers are not beyond reproach, and all professions have individuals who commit 不品行／姦通 and are dishonest. Regulators are there to discipline them.
