Haiti 地震: 奇蹟 of three-week-old baby Elisabeth Joassaint pulled from がれき alive
A baby who was just 11 days old when the Haiti 地震 struck has become one of its most amazing 生き残り stories.
No one believed that Elisabeth Joassaint could have lived as the family home was 鎮圧するd by the 負わせる of its upper storey.
It was a 十分な seven days later that a French 救助(する) team returned to the 廃虚s to search for the baby's 団体/死体 - and heard faint cries.?

Incredibly, Elisabeth was alive in a tiny hollow beneath the 荒廃, still lying on the bed where her mother Michelene had placed her moments before the 地震 攻撃する,衝突する on January 12.
Yesterday Mrs Joassaint, 22, sat in the shade of a 一時しのぎの物,策 テントd hospital, clutching Elisabeth and giving thanks for what she called 'a 奇蹟 and the mercy of God.'
Her husband Michelet, 47, said : 'Everybody knew the baby was dead, except the Lord. This wasn't the way Jesus 手配中の,お尋ね者 the baby to die.'
Mrs Joassaint said she had just fed Elisabeth and laid her 負かす/撃墜する when the 地震 struck. She tried 猛烈に to save her baby but was 軍隊d 支援する as 塀で囲むs 崩壊(する)d around her.?

The grieving couple were living on a football field when a messenger from the French team arrived to say Elisabeth was alive and they were working to 解放する/自由な her.
'I just cried and ran to my baby,' Mrs Joassaint said, 'I just could not believe she had been spared or that one so new to life, with so little strength, could have 生き残るd the 崩壊(する)ing 塀で囲むs with no inj ury at all.'?
Port-au-Prince 援助(する) 労働者 Sabine Pookey said: 'We are seeing astonishing stories of 生き残り and 救助(する)...it 支えるs the hope of finding more and shows the resilience of a child's 団体/死体 at a time of so much 悲劇.'
More than 120 people have been 救助(する)d from the がれき and international teams continued to search for more yesterday with a British group, from 早い UK, searching through a school where 100 children are 行方不明の.?

But for every 生存者, the teams are finding dozens of dead. On the the sparsely 居住させるd wasteland of Titanyen, north of Port-au-Prince, burial 労働者s are burying them in あわてて 用意が出来ている 集まり 墓/厳粛/彫る/重大なs 持つ/拘留するing 10,000 each. So far 80,000 have been buried, but the death (死傷者)数 is now 概算の to be 200,000.
Those working in the sickening stench and 悲惨 of Titanyen are haunted night and day by the never-ending flow of the dead.
'I have seen so many children, so many children, I cannot sleep at night and if I do, it is a constant nightmare,' said Foultone Fequiert, 38.
The baby's 救助(する) follows the astonishing story of a seven-year-old boy 指名するd Kiki who had been 罠にかける for eight days.
He was pulled 解放する/自由な with his 武器 wide open and 注目する,もくろむs sparkling with joy to be 手渡すd over to his weeping mother's embrace.?

All hope seemed to be lost for the
pair since people can rarely last more than three days without food and water.
But their mother remained by the 廃虚s of the house praying for their 生き残り. And yesterday she was there to call out words of 慰安 to her children as a U.S. 救助(する) team 解除するd away the 粉々にするd 固める/コンクリート which buried them.
Kiki and Sabrina were gaunt but 無事の, and were 扱う/治療するd in an Israeli field hospital where they were 再会させるd with their father.
'It is a 奇蹟, an 絶対の 奇蹟,' said Dr David Cash of Virginia 仕事 軍隊 Two after 扱う/治療するing Sabrina. 'She is in remarkable 形態/調整. It is an unbelievable feeling.'
In another story of hope, more than 100 Haitian 孤児s flew into Holland yesterday to be welcomed by their new adoptive parents.
