Brother (9) + sister (10) + maths GCSE = Two times A+. And they did it by teaching themselves
Most children of their age are still grappling with basic arithmetic.
But at nine and ten それぞれ, Raam and Meera Songara are already streets ahead of their peers - and have just 伸び(る)d A* grades in GCSE maths.
The brother and sister first got a taste for the 支配する at nursery school. Realising his children had an uncanny ability with numbers, their father Dipak gave the siblings some maths textbooks.
But he and his wife Ruksmani, 30, were astonished when their voracious appetite for all things mathematical saw them whizz through every 調書をとる/予約する they were given until they started on GCSE level 構成要素.
Then, after they said they would like to try a real exam, Raam and Meera sat GCSE maths in a room 十分な of 十代の少年少女s at Luton Sixth Form College.
After taking the exam in the
November 始める,決める of GCSEs, they received the results last week. Both 伸び(る)d 最高の,を越す A* grades by 得点する/非難する/20ing more than 90 per cent, without any 私的な tuition.

Mr Songara, 38, a 危険 管理/経営 顧問, said he realised the children were learning quickly after they joined the nursery class at Moorlands 独立した・無所属
School in Luton. A year later he decided to buy them some 調書をとる/予約するs to 'keep them 占領するd' and was stunned when they threw themselves into learning more and more.
'They just kept on wanting to learn,' he sai d. 'As they 進歩d and started moving on to 重要な 行う/開催する/段階 2 and 3 it started to get a bit scary the 量 of (警察などへの)密告,告訴(状) they were 吸収するing.' The school 示唆するd that the brother and sister could move up a year, but Mr Songara said he 手配中の,お尋ね者 his children to remain with their friends.
Raam has maths lessons with a group two years ahead, but that was the only change.
'They didn't have 教えるs, I just saw that they were learning at their own 速度(を上げる) so I let them get on with it,' said Mr Songara.
Raam loves maths so much that he has started looking at some A-level 熟考する/考慮する 構成要素, but both he and his sister have plenty of other 優先s.
Meera's passion is 現実に English. She also does kung fu and modern dance classes, plays tennis and swims, while her brother likes kung fu and astronomy.
Meera said: 'I couldn't believe it when we both got A*s. It was an amazing feeling.' Raam 追加するd: 'It was exciting to do the exam and get the results. I just want to keep on doing it.'
