Fashion designer Karen Millen says she is glad she saved into a 年金 after taking part of it as a 税金-解放する／自由な sum when she went 破産者／倒産した.

She lost 抱擁する 量s of money during the 財政上の 危機 in 2008 when the Icelandic bank Kaupthing 崩壊（する）d along with large sums it had 投資するd for her.

It 誘発するd a 抱擁する 合法的な 戦う／戦い that ended up costing some £3million.

Then she was blindsided with a £6million 法案 from HMRC over a 税金 avoidance 計画／陰謀 she had believed was nothing of the sort.

Unable to 支払う／賃金, she went 破産者／倒産した in 2017, a 決定／判定勝ち（する） she said was very difficult to make. It meant she had lost the £40million she had made from her 商売／仕事.

She told This is Money: 'Deciding to 嘘（をつく） 負かす／撃墜する and let it happen to me was the only way I could move on. I've never 現実に 追加するd up everything I lost. But I can say that I lost everything that I received from selling my 商売／仕事. I ended up with nothing, except my 年金 ? and that has been my saving grace.

'年金s are 除外するd from a 破産者／倒産した's 広い地所. 地雷's not 抱擁する, but it's been a godsend. I have taken part of it as a 税金-解放する／自由な lump sum.

'I remember thinking, when I was saving into it, that it was irrelevant. Now, I'm pleased I did it. I look at the 明言する／公表する 年金 and think: how do people 対処する on that? It's really important to have a 私的な 年金. I wish I'd put more in, in hindsight. However, I'm fit and healthy so I'd like to think I can work for at least another ten years.'?

After going into 行政 in 2019, the online 支店 of the 商売／仕事 was bought for £18.2 million in August 2019 by Manchester-based company Boohoo ― the online '急速な／放蕩な-fashion' 出口 for 16 to 25-year-olds, which also owns Coast and PrettyLittleThing.

Now she is renting a cottage in Kent and says she has become very 手渡すs-on with her money.

She said:? 'I 信用d others I felt were better qualified to take care of it. I didn't get the 権利 advice. Whether it was 投資s, putting money into 沖合いの／海外の accounts, whatever it was, I wish I'd looked into it a little more and taken more 責任／義務.

'All of those 決定／判定勝ち（する）s have cost me. From the time of the 財政上の 衝突，墜落 in 2008, there were 問題／発行するs going on with trying to 持つ／拘留する on to everything. My time was taken up with negativity, 戦う／戦いs and lawyers.

The 税金 法案 led to her losing her £2.5 million family home, a six-bedroom Grade II-名簿（に載せる）／表（にあげる）d building 始める，決める in five acres in Wateringbury, Kent, which had a swimming pool, lake, cinema and football pitch.

'We'd lived there for 20 years and I was given a year's grace ― it was a big house to empty ― so I was literally 運動ing out of the gates when the receivers turned up to change the locks,' she 解任するs, shuddering at the memory.

'It was an awful time. My children lost their family home. My youngest, who had been two when we moved in, took it hardest.

'When I heard that Boohoo had bought the company, I was pretty 荒廃させるd,' 追加するs Karen. 'おもに because it meant the 蓄える／店s would の近くに and something we'd worked for 20-半端物 years to build would disappear from 見解（をとる）.
