Family's country 広い地所 goes on the market for first time in 1,000 years... at an asking price of £12million
Anyone who has had their 注目する，もくろむs on buying this house may have had to wait やめる a while.

But after a grand history in which it was tied to such momentous events as the 戦う／戦い of Hastings and the Hundred Years War, the rather 排除的 所有物／資産／財産 is finally coming on the market.

Part of it is thought to have been gifted to a French baron by William the 征服者／勝利者 as a reward for his part in the Norman Conquest.
The entire 広い地所 at Cleobury Mortimer, 近づく Kidderminster, was later passed to one his descendents - John de Meysey - as a gift by King Edward III in 1349.

Shakenhurst through the centuries

It is thought he was gifted Shakenhurst by William the 征服者／勝利者, but it is 不明瞭な whether he lived there as a tenant of the 栄冠を与える or as the landowner.
His father, Roger, was born in Tosni, フラン, who earned a fearsome 評判 fighting the Saracens around Barcelona after he was sent into 追放する.

William Lorimere, a trustee of the 広い地所 and a 親族 of Mr Severne, said: 'What we do not know is what those services （判決などを）下すd overseas were which 誘発するd the King to gift Shakenhurst to Meysey.

Shakenhurst remained with the Meyseys until 1906, when the 未亡人 of Charles Wigley Wicksted, a Meysey descendent, left it to her godson, Hugh Gurney and his wife Sybil, 満足させるd that a handful of other Meysey descendents would be 井戸／弁護士席 供給するd for by three その上の country 所有物／資産／財産s the family owned.
Shakenhurst was used as a school for girls during the Second World War, by which time the 未亡人d Mrs Gurney were struggling under a £20,000 賭事ing 負債 run up by their son, Peter, during his first year at Oxford University.
