Litter lout s cost taxpayers more than £850million last year in England, say 選挙運動者s.

Keep Britain Tidy said cash-strapped 地元の 会議s spent a 記録，記録的な／記録する 量 last year （疑いを）晴らすing up two million pieces of carelessly discarded rubbish a day, 範囲ing from cigarettes butts to burger wrappers.

'We all complain when we see what is perceived to be wasteful spending in organisations and 会・原則s and yet we, as a country, seem to be やめる happy to throw litter and その結果 money away.

'It is time for everyone in this country to clean up their 行為／法令／行動する. A change in everyone's behaviour will save money but it will also make this country a cleaner, greener and better place to live.'

IT COULD BUY

£858 million is enough to 支払う／賃金 for:

  • Eight new hospitals

  • 28 new schools
  • Putting 1,700 bobbies on the （警官の）巡回区域，受持ち区域 for a year
  • A one-off 燃料 支払い（額） of £71.50 for every pensioner
  • Tuition 料金s for 266,000 university students for a year
  • 麻薬s for every 患者 with Alzheimer's 病気 for two years

Taxpayers spend around £150million a year 除去するing chewing gum from pavements. Around 9,000 トンs of gum is thrown away each year, with 80 per cent thought to 結局最後にはーなる on the ground.
