星/主役にする Wars actor John Boyega says the 殺人,大当り of his friend Damilola Taylor '形態/調整d' who he is today - as he opened up about the 殺すing of his friend at the age of 10 for the very first time.
Boyega, 32, best known for his 役割 as rogue Stormtrooper Finn in Disney's sci-fi saga, has spoken about how he was caught up in the youngster's death after Damilola was 削除するd with a broken 瓶/封じ込める and left to die on November 27 2000.
The actor, then 老年の eight, and his sister Grace were の中で the last people to see their friend alive before he was attacked by brothers Ricky and Danny Preddie in Peckham, south-east London, and left to bleed out.
Speaking to BBC 無線で通信する 4's Last Word podcast, Boyega said losing Damilola had been 'life-changing' - and that a reading of a poem the 10-year-old had written at his funeral showed how his friend had 'dreamed to be more'.

He told the podcast's John Taylor:?'From the hours we left him in Peckham to the hours when I went home, and then the police was at our door and there was a whole 調査 that we were 伴う/関わるd in, (it) was definitely life changing for me, definitely altered my 視野.
'Even though I was young, it was a shock to understand how mortality worked.?To think that somebody as young as me could pass away in such a horrific way was hard for me to understand or comprehend.
'And I definitely think Damilola's 悲劇の (殺人,大当り) has definitely 形態/調整d me through the years and just 影響する/感情d my 視野 on 確かな things and it definitely 影響する/感情d the community too.
'I mean, my sister, in particular, Grace, who was very, very の近くに with Damilola, went through a lot, and my dad had to 前線 that and try to 保護する her in that 旅行. It was definitely a lot for everybody to take.'

'And you're thinking about all this stuff that you're going to do and how you're going to use your skillset to 衝撃 the world.
'And I guess that, just amongst other things, just gave birth to this mentality that I had.
'What is truly my dream? Do I have the guts to identify what my dream is? Am I too young to identify my dream and work に向かって it?
'And after reading that poem, I was just like, yeah, I have no excuse. I want to be a movie 星/主役にする.
'And not just because I want to be (one) but because someone else like Damilola Taylor, in my 環境 too, dreamed to be more.
'And I think that's 価値(がある) it. And it definitely has 衝撃d me till today.'

Mr Taylor and his wife Gloria 始める,決める up a charity called The Damilola Taylor 信用 in the wake of their son's death. Gloria died in 2008 and Mr Taylor continued their work in the に引き続いて years.
