That's a lot of dough! 広大な/多数の/重要な British Bake Off 星/主役にする Paul Hollywood and his wife have 急落(する),激減(する)d £80,000 into trying to save her family's pub but want to turn it into a house after 貿易(する) 崩壊(する)d

TV 星/主役にする Paul Hollywood and his wife Melissa have put more than £80,000 of their own cash into trying to save her family's pub which they want to turn into a home.

Mrs Hollywood 明らかにする/漏らすd the 商売/仕事's struggles as she was supported by the celebrity パン職人 at a Kent 会議 planning 会合 last night.

The long-serving landlady of The Chequers Inn 近づく Ashford told 議員s her parents have spent even larger sums trying to keep it afloat and said the 商売/仕事 was 'dying on its feet'.

The Grade II-名簿(に載せる)/表(にあげる)d village pub has long been in the 手渡すs of Mrs Hollywood's family - who now want to turn it into a house.

Her father Glenn Spalding submitted 計画(する)s earlier this year to 変える the 所有物/資産/財産 into a 選び出す/独身 dwelling, 誘発するing a 抱擁する 激しい抗議 from 地元のs.

The 提案s had been recommended for 是認 - but on Wednesday evening, the planning 委員会 投票(する)d to defer its 決定/判定勝ち(する) in order for more (警察などへの)密告,告訴(状) to be gathered.

Melissa spoke at the packed public 会合, with her husband supporting her from the (人が)群がる.

She told 議員s the 商売/仕事 in The Street was no longer viable.

'The Chequers is dying on its feet, and 地元の 貿易(する) is not enough to support it,' said Mrs Hollywood.

'I have 本人自身で given over £40,000 of my personal 貯金, as has my husband the same and my parents かなり more.

'Mum and Dad are 井戸/弁護士席 past 退職 age, and they both work seven days a week - still on no salary.

'Mum is in very poor health, which means she can no longer work and has been 急ぐd to the hospital twice this year already.'

She said if the 計画(する)s are 認可するd, the character of The Chequers will remain 不変の.

'My parents are not trying to make money developing the 場所/位置, just hopefully to make it more attractive to 可能性のある 買い手s and hopefully enjoy a few years of meaningful 退職 themselves,' Mrs Hollywood 追加するd.

But Cllr Kayleigh Brunger-Randell (反対/詐欺) argued that a possible 最近の 拒絶する/低下する in 貿易(する) shouldn't mean the historic pub should の近くに.

She said: 'The Chequers had been a viable 地元の 商売/仕事 for 596 years before the applicant began [trying to sell it] in 2020. There's 明確に enough 地元の support for the 商売/仕事 to continue if 許すd to do so.'

Cllr Brunger-Randell said Smarden's other pub, The 飛行機で行くing Horse, has complemented The Chequers for more than two centuries years but is not a suitable 代案/選択肢.

She 追加するd: 'The Chequers is a major part of the 地元の 組織/基盤/下部構造, and with the new 地元の 計画(する) coming through, we should be building その上の 組織/基盤/下部構造, not destroying it.'

One 選択 is for the 商売/仕事 to be bought and run by 村人s, with the help of 政府 認めるs.

While fundraising has not yet 攻撃する,衝突する £825,000, the Smarden Community Pub group has 申し込む/申し出d this sum as a 可能性のある 購入(する) price for The Chequers.

One member, Russ Phipps, 60, told the 会合: 'I first moved to Smarden 47 years ago, and The Chequers has always been a vibrant part of the community.

'All the 商売/仕事s in our village 栄える on each other, and if one were to の近くに forever, it would 引き裂く the heart out of our 孤立するd community.'

A 動議 was (米)棚上げする/(英)提議するd to 辞退する the 使用/適用 on the grounds that there are no viable 代案/選択肢 pubs and that The Chequers 供給するd a valued 経済的な 上げる to surrounding 商売/仕事s.

But the 委員会 deferred its 決定/判定勝ち(する) because no planning 法律制定 supported this 推論する/理由ing for 拒絶するing the 計画/陰謀.
