Calls to change centuries-old 法律 favouring male 相続人s and 妨げるing firstborn daughters 相続するing their family's 肩書を与えるs ahead of Duke of Westminster's wedding

The 近づいている wedding of the Duke of Westminster to fiancee Olivia Henson has resulted in 新たにするd calls to change the 法律 that means firstborn daughters will not 相続する 肩書を与えるs over their younger brothers.

The 法律s of primogeniture - which have 存在するd for centuries - means that the eldest son will always 相続する the 肩書を与える after the death of their father, even over their older sisters.

Male primogeniture succession means that that firstborn daughters of aristocrats do not 相続する 肩書を与えるs if they have younger brothers.

The 法律s were enshrined during the 中世 period after William the 征服者/勝利者 侵略するd Britain.

Hereditary 君主国 used the same 支配するs until the 法律 was quickly changed before Prince George was born in 2013.
