He left the 資本/首都 this morning bound for Red Sea 訴える手段/行楽地 Sharm El Sheikh and 明言する/公表する TV 発表するd すぐに after 4pm GMT that he had 辞職するd.

It is understood that the Egyptian army will 支配する と一緒に 副大統領 Omar Suleiman until 選挙s can take place later this year.

It was the biggest day of 抗議するs yet in the 激変 that began Jan. 25, growing from 青年 行動主義者s working on the Internet into a 集まり movement that tapped into 普及した discontent with Mubarak's 権威主義者 lock on 力/強力にする, 汚職, 経済的な woes and 普及した 不平等s between rich and poor.

'In these 墓/厳粛/彫る/重大な circumstances that the country is passing through, 大統領 Hosni Mubarak has decided to leave his position as 大統領,/社長 of the 共和国,' a grim-looking Suleiman said.

Nobel Peace laureate Mohammed ElBaradei, whose young 支持者s were の中で the 組織者s of the 抗議する movement, told The Associated 圧力(をかける), 'This is the greatest day of my life.'

It was not thought that Mubarak had fled the country and instead flew from a 軍の base on the 郊外s of Cairo.

The move (機の)カム as thousands of 抗議する人s marched on the 大統領の palace. It is the first time there has been any major movement away from Tahrir Square, the epicentre for 対立 to the 政権.

Most 兵士s kept their helmets off in a 調印する they want to 避ける 衝突/不一致s. Britain asked for '抑制', 恐れるing the 18th day of 抗議するs, dubbed 'Day of 殉教者s', might end 不正に.

But as support for the 抗議するs swelled more than ever before over the last three weeks it became (疑いを)晴らす that 平和的な life in Egypt would not 再開する until Mubarak had left.

'The army have said many times they will not use 軍隊 against 抗議する人s,' said Foreign 長官 William Hague.
