検死官's fury at paramedics who took break as mother died

Melissa Procter-Blain, 32, 崩壊（する）d in a pub two days after she was 診断するd with a 血 clot followi ng 脚 外科.

A paramedic was すぐに despatched and arrived at the pub but was ordered to wait by 監査役s.

Bosses 恐れるd the pub was too volatile for a 孤独な paramedic to enter without 支援する-up, an 検死 heard.

Although 同僚s were の近くに by they were on a break and 指導基準s 問題／発行するd by the 救急車 service 主張する that breaks must be 連続する unless there is a ‘major 出来事/事件’. The 乗組員 had two minutes of their break left.

辞退するing to wait any longer, the first paramedic entered the pub three minutes and 55 seconds after she arrived. 行方不明になる Procter-Blain later died.

Yesterday 検死官 Robert Hunter said: ‘I am astonished beyond belief that an 緊急 service can despatch a 高度に-技術d and experienced paramedic to a life-脅すing 緊急 with blue lights and サイレン／魅惑的なs, only to tell that person not to enter and wait for 支援する-up.

‘Paramedics are frontline staff. Their 職業 does not overstate the fact that every second counts.

‘I have 墓／厳粛／彫る／重大な 関心s that when there are no appropriate 資源s 利用できる an 救急車 乗組員 on their break cannot be interrupted to …に出席する a life-脅すing 緊急.

‘Their 職業 is not working in a factory, nor filling out forms in an office where time is not of the essence. It is literally a 事柄 of life and death.’

行方不明になる Procter-Blain, a mother-of-three, had fallen over and dislocated her 膝 in May 2009. She underwent 外科 for ligament 損失 but developed a 血 clot.

Two days after this was 診断するd, in July 2009, she 崩壊（する）d at The 栄冠を与える pub in Derby.

Drinkers called an 救急車, and a paramedic, referred to as 行方不明になる X in 法廷，裁判所, was despatched by East Midlands 救急車 Service to the 部類 A life-脅すing 緊急.

She said she was 迎える／歓迎するd by a ‘t errific noise’, with people ‘effing and blinding’ at her to hurry up.

She started setting up her 器具／備品 while one of 行方不明になる Procter-Blain’s friends continued giving her CPR. Minutes later the 救急車 乗組員 arrived.

行方不明になる X said she was sent to 出来事/事件s and told to wait for 支援する-up two or three times a week.

The 検死官 said: ‘EMAS need to consider reviewing their 政策 to despatch the nearest appropriate 乗り物.’

He 追加するd that it was ありそうもない that 行方不明になる Procter-Blain would have 生き残るd, にもかかわらず the 延期する.

In a 声明 EMAS said: ‘The 単独の paramedic was 迎える／歓迎するd with a 敵意を持った and 脅迫してさせるing atmosphere.

‘The 単独の paramedic and the 支援する-up 乗組員 供給するd all possible 治療, but sadly, にもかかわらず their 成果／努力s to save Melissa, her 医療の 条件 was such that her death was 必然的な.’
