There's no place like home - and that's 正確に/まさに how Freda O'Brien feels having lived in the same house for 84 YEARS.

The 91-year-old has seen 君主s and 首相s come and go since moving into the three-bedroom 会議 house as a young girl in 1927.

When Freda's family first moved into the house in Thornhill, West Yorks., they'd never had an indoor 洗面所 or electricity before.

'It was 高級な. We couldn't stop switching the lights on and running the hot water!', she 解任するs.

The mother-of-two 株d the house - which today has modern window and doors - with her parents, brother and three sisters. After leaving school 老年の 14 she went to work in a woollen mill for the 同等(の) of 57p per week.

In 1944 she married Danny O'Brien and moved him in to the house with her parents. A few years later daughter Margaret, now 58, was born quickly followed by Catherine, 57.

In the 1980s the couple bought the house from the 会議 - and have stayed there.

'It's a happy home. I've never 手配中の,お尋ね者 to live anywhere else,' she says.

Danny died in 1994 but Freda makes sure she remains active, doing her own cooking and きれいにする.

When asked what the biggest change she'd seen in the street was, she said: 'The number of cars. When we moved in, nobody had one.'
