New e-mails 証明する No 10's still lying

負かす／撃墜するing Street 直面するd fresh 告訴，告発s of coverup and deceit last night after it 辞退するd to explain inconsistencies in Cherie Blair's account of her 取引 with 罪人／有罪を宣告するd conman Peter Foster.

Number 10 stuck by Mrs Blair's earlier 声明 that he had been 伴う／関わるd for only 'a couple of weeks' in her 交渉s to buy two flats.

But e-mails already published by the Daily Mail, and 付加 ones we publish here today, 証明する beyond 疑問 that Foster, who has been 刑務所，拘置所d in three different countries, was inextricably linked with the 取引，協定 for almost six weeks.

To the 怒り／怒る and 不信 of political 新聞記者／雑誌記者s, the 総理大臣's 公式の／役人 広報担当者 took 避難 in 主張するing that Mrs Blair had done nothing 違法な, 妥当でない or 'out of step with normal practice' in buying the flats in Bristol, where her son Euan is at university.

Even if 'wild 主張s' were made, he said, she was still する権利を与えるd to her privacy.

But the 石／投石する-塀で囲むing failed to 茎・取り除く 需要・要求するs for a 十分な 声明 on the 事件／事情／状勢.

以前-friendly 新聞記者／雑誌記者s are furious that they were 活発に misled earlier this week by repeated 負かす／撃墜するing Street 否定s which had to be 撤回するd when the Mail 明らかにする／漏らすd the facts.

Backbenchers believe the Blair 側近 has made a serious

mistake in not （疑いを）晴らすing up the discrepancies. They 恐れる it may mean there are more 損失ing 発覚s to come.

Yesterday's questions centred on the account Mrs Blair 問題／発行するd on Thursday of her 取引 with Foster, the Australian-born boyfriend of her の近くに friend and fashion 助言者 Carole Caplin.

She produced the 声明 after the Mail's 出版（物） of the e-mails blew away Number 10's 否定s.

The 声明 tried to minimise Foster's 関与, 説: 'It is 訂正する that for a couple of we eks of the 交渉s in late October/早期に November he helped me by talking to the 所有物／資産／財産 スパイ／執行官s, making suggestions to me about the best price to 安全な・保証する and corresponding with me by e-mail.'

But in fact the e-mail スピードを出す／記録につける shows that they were in constant 接触する for nearly six weeks.

The messages 確認する that Mr Foster 扱うd the 交渉s all the way through, from an 調査 about what was 利用できる, to 選ぶing up the 重要なs.

On October 22, for example, he e-mailed Tracey Yeo at the developers' office, thanking her for （警察などへの）密告，告訴（状） on 床に打ち倒す 計画（する）s and prices and 追加するing: 'I will be discussing this with Mrs B.'

Six weeks later, on November 29, he was e-mailing Mrs Blair with the news that the 取引，協定 had gone through. His message said: 'Congratulations Cherie, Best always, Peter F.' There are also

unanswered questions about Foster's 明らかな 乗り気 to 支払う／賃金 a £4,000 accountant's 料金 on Mrs Blair's に代わって, その為に appearing to put her in his 負債.

But Mr Blair's 公式の／役人 spokesmen Godric Smith and Tom Kelly, who had been appalled to find themselves turned into unwitting liars as they loyally passed on Mrs Blair's 否定s, were 辞退するing to say any more.

Mr Kelly made it （疑いを）晴らす that the 首相's wife would stand or 落ちる by her own accounts.

He 主張するd: 'I read a 声明 from Mrs Blair. I have no 意向 of 違反ing その上の privacy by 解釈する／通訳するing that 声明. End of story.'

Mr Blair's 最高の，を越す spin doctor Alastair Campbell was 一方／合間 trying to 確実にする that no 非難する for the debacle 大（公）使館員d to him.

His 見解／翻訳／版 of events, put out through compliant members of the マスコミ, is that he became 伴う／関わるd only because 公式の／役人s could not find Mr Smith when the Mail on Sunday carried the story of Mrs Blair's 関与 with Foster.

Mrs Blair 怒って told Mr Campbell that Foster had played no 役割 and that everything had been done 適切に. A line giving '最小限 discl osure' was agreed - and it was this 姿勢 which was taken by Mr Smith and Mr Kelly 早期に in the week.

公式の／役人s were horrified when Foster's 十分な 役割 was laid 明らかにする in Thursday's Daily Mail. The 発覚s led to Mrs Blair 問題／発行するing a 声明 of 悔いる if she had 原因（となる）d 'any 誤解 between the Number 10 圧力（をかける） office and the マスコミ'.

It is understood that this was not enough to 満足させる Mr Smith and Mr Kelly, who felt their 信用性 had been placed on the line, and Mrs Blair had to 問題／発行する a second 声明 強調する／ストレスing that 'she, and she alone' was responsible. Yesterday she ignored waiting 新聞記者／雑誌記者s as she arrived for work at Isleworth 栄冠を与える 法廷，裁判所 in west London. Her husband also 辞退するd to speak about the 事件／事情／状勢 when he visited an NHS walk-in centre in Bristol.

Tory leader Iain Duncan Smith dipped his toe into the スキャンダル by referring to 'Cherie's problems' and 誓約（する）ing to 持つ／拘留する 負かす／撃墜するing Street to account over its 役割.

But his 影をつくる／尾行する home 長官, Oliver Letwin, told BBC 無線で通信する: 'It is very, very important not to turn politics into something that descends from the level of 政策 and 行政 to を取り引きする the 私的な lives of individuals.'
