Dr Starkey said: ‘I think what this week has shown is that 深遠な changes have happened. There has been a 深遠な cultural change. I have just been re-reading Enoch Powell.

‘His prophecy was 絶対 権利 in one sense: the Tiber didn’t 泡,激怒すること with 血, but 炎上s lambent wrapped around Tottenham, wrapped around Clapham.

‘But it wasn’t intercommunal 暴力/激しさ; this was where he was 完全に wrong.

‘What has happened is that the 相当な section of the chavs that you wrote about have become 黒人/ボイコット. The whites have become 黒人/ボイコット. A particular sort of violent, destructive, nihilistic ギャング(個々) culture has become the fashion.

‘黒人/ボイコット and white, boy and girl operate in this language together. This language, which is wholly 誤った, which is this Jamaican patois that has intruded in England.

Dr Starkey 追加するd: ‘Listen to David Lammy, an archetypal successful 黒人/ボイコット man.

Mr Lammy, the 労働 MP for Tottenham, said the comments were 誤って導くing 同様に as ‘dangerous and 意見の不一致を生じる’.

But author and commentator Toby Young defended Dr Starkey against 告発(する),告訴(する)/料金s of 人種差別主義. He pointed out that Dr Starkey was not criticising 黒人/ボイコット culture in general but a ‘particular form of 黒人/ボイコット culture, the violent, destructive, nihilistic, ギャング(個々) culture associated with Jamaican ギャング(団)s and American 非難する music’.

He 追加するd: ‘Had he been talking about these 質s as if they were synonymous with African-Caribbean culture per se, or 非難するing that culture in its totality, then he would have been 有罪の of 人種差別主義. But he wasn’t.

‘He was やめる 特に 非難するing a sub-culture associated with a small 少数,小数派 of people of African-Caribbean 遺産. (Admittedly, he could have made this clearer.)

‘Rather than 存在 人種差別主義者, he was 単に trotting out the 従来の 知恵 of the hour, すなわち, that ギャング(団) culture is to 非難する for the 暴動s. In 新規加入, Starkey wasn’t linking this sub-culture to people of just one 肌 colour, but 非難するing working-class white people ? chavs, as he put it ? who embraced it 同様に.’

保守的な writer James Delingpole blogged: ‘The cultural point he is making is indisputable.

‘Listen to how many white kids (and Asian kids) choose to speak in 黒人/ボイコット street patois; 公式文書,認める the extent to which hip-hop and grime garage and their offshoots have 侵入するd the white mainstream; check out how many white kids like to roll like pimps or perps with their Calvins pulled up to their midriffs and their ジーンズ waistbands sagging below? their bu ttocks.

‘Is anyone 本気で going to try to make the 事例/患者 that this isn’t 黒人/ボイコット culture in excelsis?’
