兵士 who 生き残るs 自殺 爆破 happy to be alive after 43 facial 外科s in last four years

Just barely 生き残るing a 道端 爆破 in Afghanistan, a U.S 兵士 received 43 facial 外科s in four years' time, today 直面するing a new life and 直面する, while thankful to be alive.

Five years ago, travelling in the city of Kabul, Army Staff Sgt. Todd M. Nelson's Toyota Land 巡洋艦 was blown up, shredded, by a 自殺 driver's parked car.

It was 45 days before the end of his second one-year 戦闘 小旅行する and he was left barely alive and 完全に unrecognisable.

'I remember waking up and 現実に seeing my own reflection in the mirror,' Sgt Nelson 解任するs to the Huffington 地位，任命する, 指名するing off the loss of his 権利 ear and 注目する，もくろむ.

'All I could think to myself was, ‘I guess I can live with this.’ Because I felt fortunate just to be alive,' he says.

But four years and 43 外科s later -- that he says he knows of -- he has 遂行するd the very 最小限 of his 願望（する）s.

When it comes to war, he says, 'you really learn that you are out of 支配（する）／統制する. That this life is not in your 支配（する）／統制する, so you turn to your 約束. And that 用意が出来ている me for this.'
