Vet tells of slurry 炭坑，オーケストラ席 attack

A 農業者 grabbed a vet by the throat and held her 長，率いる under a 炭坑，オーケストラ席 of slurry until she 恐れるd she would 溺死する, a 法廷，裁判所 heard yesterday.

Susan Potter said she felt terrified as Roger パン職人押し進めるd her 直面する under the foot-深い mix of mud, animal faeces and urine.

She told the 法廷，裁判所 she "fought like a wildcat", kicking him in the groin and 攻撃するing at his 直面する, but he would not let her go.

"At the time it felt like he held me under for a long time although in reality it was probably only a few seconds," she told the 陪審／陪審員団.

"It was long enough for me to think that I must not breathe and that I had to 持つ／拘留する my breath or I would 溺死する."

Mrs Potter, 46, said her ordeal began when she and a 同僚 visited パン職人's farm at Ventongimps, 近づく Truro in Cornwall, last February to 調査／捜査する（人命などを）奪う，主張するs of animal 虐待.

They had just 設立する a dead lamb hanging in a tree when they were 待ち伏せ／迎撃するd by パン職人, the 法廷，裁判所 was told. Mrs Potter said the 農業者 flew into a 激怒（する） and 押し進めるd her 同僚, animal health 視察官 Jonathan McCulloch, to the ground.

"パン職人 grabbed Jonathan and dragged him backwards into an area of 深い mud and slurry which the cattle had churned up and which was almost liquid and at least a foot 深い," Mrs Potter, 長，率いる vet with the 明言する／公表する Veterinary Service in Cornwall, told the 陪審／陪審員団.

"I started filming this with a camcorder I was using to gather 証拠 until Jonathan fell over and I thought he was going to be 本気で傷つける so I went to help him.

"パン職人 let Jonathan go and grabbed me instead and 押し進めるd me 支援する into the slurry.

"I was on my 支援する and he had his left 手渡す on my throat and his other 手渡す on my 直面する.

"I went 完全に underneath the liquid. My 直面する was 存在 held in the slurry, which was liquid mud mixed with animal faeces and urine."

As he held Mrs Potter's 長，率いる under the slurry, パン職人 snarled at Mr McCulloch, 27, and 脅すd to kill him, the 法廷，裁判所 heard.

"He turned around and... said something like 'when I have finished with her, I will kill you'," said Mr McCulloch. "I realised パン職人 was 押し進めるing Susan under the mud. She was 潜水するd and I shouted he should let her go. I thought he was trying to kill her by 溺死するing her in slurry."

Mrs Potter said she also 恐れるd for her life and started to fight 支援する.

"I thought he was trying to 溺死する me and I fought him like a wildcat," she said. "I struggled and kicked him in the groin. I connected but it did not seem to have an 影響 so I swung the camera in my 権利手渡す and 攻撃する，衝突する him on the 長，率いる.

"He did not let go so I 攻撃する，衝突する him again and then he let go of my 直面する and tried to 得る，とらえる the camera and 格闘する it away from me. When I （機の）カム up out of the mud my ears, 注目する，もくろむs, mouth and nose were 完全に covered in liquid muck."

Mrs Potter said she managed to keep 持つ／拘留する of the camera during the struggle and 辞退するd to 手渡す it over to パン職人, にもかかわらず pleadings from Mr McCulloch.

"I have a stubborn streak," she told Taunton 栄冠を与える法廷，裁判所 in Somerset. "It was the only thing I had to defend myself with and also I had filmed him attacking Jonathan and I did not want it to be destroyed.

"パン職人 let go and I tried to get up but could not do so because of the suction of the mud and Jonathan helped pull me out.

"I was terrified and afterwards I felt very 不安定な and weak and 冷淡な and shivery and I had a small graze on the 味方する of my 長，率いる."

Mrs Potter and Mr McCulloch then 退却／保養地d to the farm gates where a BBC film 乗組員 making an animal 福利事業文書の and two police officers were waiting.

パン職人 was 逮捕（する）d and 告発（する），告訴（する）／料金d with affray and making 脅しs to kill, which he 否定するs.

Yesterday, the 陪審／陪審員団 was shown （映画の）フィート数 from Mrs Potter's camcorder.
