Two die from eating 高度に poisonous death cap mushrooms at New Year's Eve dinner party

Two people died after eating the 高度に-poisonous death cap mushroom at a New Year's Eve dinner party.

It is believed the m ushrooms were mistaken for the 類似の-looking straw fungi, popular in Chinese and other Asian dishes.

The dinner party was held at a house in Canberra, a 地域 where the death cap mushroom (Amanita phalloides) grows in more profusion than in any other part of Australia.

The 身元s of the two people who have died have yet to be 明らかにする／漏らすd by 当局, but it is known that a 52-year-old woman and two men 老年の 38 and 51 were flown to hospital in a 批判的な 条件.

A fourth guest at the dinner party was also 扱う／治療するd in hospital but was later 発射する／解雇するd.

'One person is still receiving 治療, but two people have passed away,' said a 広報担当者 at Sydney's 王室の Prince Alfred Hospital today.

It is not known if the deadly mushrooms were 選ぶd by anyone 準備するing for the dinner party or whether they were 購入（する）d commercially.

The 殺し屋 fungi are usually 設立する around Canberra in autumn 近づく oak trees, but 最近の summer rain has spurred their growth.

The Australian 政府's 環境の department 警告するs online that the 毒（薬） in just one death cap are enough to kill a healthy adult.

The symptoms, says the department, often do not appear until 10-16 hours - or longer - af ter the mushrooms have been eaten.

The first symptoms are stomach 苦痛s, vomiting and diarrhoea, which might continue for a day or two. Then there is typically an 緩和 of symptoms and 明らかな 回復.

But the 悪意のある 毒（薬）s are working away, attacking the 団体／死体 without the 犠牲者 knowing.

This 誤った '回復' period may last for two or three days and then the '終点 段階 of three to five days' starts with the re-occurrence of stomach 苦痛s, vomiting and diarrhoea - …を伴ってd by jaundice.

Without 早期に 医療の 介入, 昏睡 and death occur between one and two weeks after eating the mushroom.

Death is 原因（となる）d by 肝臓 失敗, often …を伴ってd by 腎臓 失敗.
