心にいだくd: Rifleman Sachin Limbu died on Monday

尊敬の印s were paid today to a '高度に 心にいだくd' Gurkha 兵士 who died in hospital 18 months after 存在 負傷させるd in an 爆発 in Afghanistan.

Rifleman Sachin Limbu, 23, from 1st 大隊, The 王室の Gurkha ライフル銃／探して盗むs, died at Queen Elizabeth Hospital in Birmingham on Monday.

He was 負傷させるd when he was caught in the 爆破 from an improvised 爆発性の 装置 in June 2010.

The 兵士 （機の）カム from Rajghat, Morang in Nepal, and followed in his father's footsteps by becoming a Gurkha 兵士.

His father was a Gurkha 上級の NCO and he was brought up in the life and community of 7th Gurkha ライフル銃／探して盗むs and later 2nd 大隊 The 王室の Gurkha ライフル銃／探して盗むs in Hong Kong and Brunei.

In a 声明 解放（する）d through the 省 of Defence, his father, Dillisher Limbu, said: 'My wife and I are immensely proud of our only beloved son who has sacrificed his life for the good of others.

'Sachin was our only son and we both 延長する our sincere thanks to all the staff at The New Queen Elizabeth hospital and 旅団 of Gurkhas who have supported us all so closely.'

'He was 高度に 心にいだくd and loved by his fellow Gurkhas and left his 示す on all those that had the honour to 会合，会う him.

'As the only son of a retired Gurkha this will have been 破滅的な for his family; our thoughts and 祈りs are with them at this difficult time.'

Rfn Limbu was （軍隊を）展開する，配備するd on 操作／手術 Herrick 12 with B (Sari Bari) Company, 1st 大隊, The 王室の Gurkha ライフル銃／探して盗むs as a mac hine gunner.

He was 伴う／関わるd in a number of 操作／手術s to stabilise the area of Walizi Village, many of which 伴う／関わるd 激しい, 長引いた and の近くに ４半期/4分の1 戦闘 in an area known to 現在の a high 危険 from IEDs, the MoD said.

On June 24 2010 he was （軍隊を）展開する，配備するd on a patrol to Walizi as part of an 操作／手術 to enable 地元の 国家の freedom of movement and 阻止する 謀反の activity in the area.

Rfn Limbu, who passed the 選択 for the 旅団 of Gurkhas in 2007, was 避難させるd to Birmingham's Selly Oak Hospital 経由で （軍の）野営地，陣営 Bastion before 存在 transferred to Queen Elizabeth Hospital where he died.

'On 操作／手術s in Afghanistan he 代表するd everything that is good about our Gurkha 兵士s. He was diligent, supportive to his friends and committed to what he was doing.

'He had a 会社／堅い place in his Company and was counted as one of a select few. Since his 傷害 a year and a half ago, he was nothing short of inspirational.

'I watched this young man を取り引きする unimaginable 苦痛 and 苦しむing, but all the time he 持続するd his strength and dignity.

'One of the proudest moments of my life was when he was 現在のd his Afghan ca mpaign service メダル on his 区 in the Queen Elizabeth Hospital last year, surrounded by his family, friends, and the wonderful staff there who cared for him so 井戸／弁護士席.

Major Dyanprasad Rai, Gurkha Major 1st 大隊 王室の Gurkha ライフル銃／探して盗むs, said: 'Rifleman Sachin Limbu was a 勇敢な and 高度に 有能な 兵士 who was 献身的な to his profession.

'He has always been sincere and 充てるd に向かって his 責任／義務s as a 兵士, in the best tradition of the Gurkha 兵士.

'He was active in all that he did, thoughtful for those around him and incredibly loyal.

'His service within 1st 大隊 The 王室の Gurkha ライフル銃／探して盗むs will never be forgotten.'

Major Kushiman Gurung, Gurkha Major 1st 大隊 王室の Gurkha ライフル銃／探して盗むs on H12, said: 'Riflemen Sachin Limbu was a true Gurkha 兵士. He was loyal, 決定するd, and enthusiastic and was always up for a challenge with a grin on his 直面する.
