Young people in Britain are struggling to make a 未来 for themselves as 政府 人物/姿/数字s show almost a million have joined the 階級s of the NEETs.

One in six 16 to 24-year-olds is now part of the unenviable NEET tribe - short for not in education, 雇用 or training - によれば data published by the Department for Education today.

The depressing 統計(学) show that an extra 19,000 young people 老年の 16-24 were considered NEET in the final three months of last year, compared with the same period in 2010.

In total, 958,000 young people in that age 範囲 without education, training or a 職業 in the fourth 4半期/4分の1 of 2011.

But school unions questioned the moves.

Russell Hobby, general 長官 of the 国家の 協会 of 長,率いる Teachers (NAHT), said: 'Schools work hard to give young people the 技術s and abilities they need to 栄える in adult life but this won't get them work if there are too few 職業s around.

'Nor can schools easily 納得させる students of the value of 熟考する/考慮する and dedication if they see 世代s of talent wasted on the 施し物.

'Scrapping the 教育の 維持/整備 Allowance that helped thousands continue their education has only made the 状況/情勢 worse.

'So every time we ask schools to up their game, we must 平等に look to society to 投資する in growth to create 職業s.'

Chris Keates, general 長官 of the NASUWT teachers' union, 追加するd that 態度s to work experience and vocational 資格s gave young people few choices.

'廃止するing work experience and denigrating vocational 資格s is making a bad 状況/情勢 worse,' he said.
