'What would happen if I had a scarf over my 直面する?': Nightmare of 消防士 Sam creator branded a 人種差別主義者 over quip to airport 安全

As David Jones passed through airport 安全, his thoughts were turning to lunch with his daughters, who were already ‘airside’.

But a light-hearted 発言／述べる as he placed his scarf through the X-ray scanner led to Mr Jones, the creator of the animated children’s character 消防士 Sam, 存在 held for an hour by 安全 guards and （刑事）被告 of 人種差別主義.

Ex-消防士 Mr Jones, a former member of the 世帯 Cavalry, said he experienced an ‘Orwellian nightmare’ after commenting on the 緩和する with which a イスラム教徒 乗客 ahead of him ? who had her 直面する almost 完全に covered by a hijab ? had passed through 安全 without showing her 直面する.

As he placed his scarf and other 所持品 into a tray to pass through the X-ray scanner, Mr Jones, 67, said to an 公式の／役人: ‘If I was wearing this scarf over my 直面する, I wonder what would happen.’

To his astonishment, he was stopped by 安全 staff on the other 味方する of the 検問所 at Gatwick and （刑事）被告 of 人種差別主義 after a イスラム教徒 安全 guard who heard the 発言／述べる said it had 原因（となる）d her offence.

He again 否定するd his 発言／述べる had been 人種差別主義者, and they were then joined by a BA 義務 経営者／支配人, but Mr Jones said they 味方するd with the 安全 staff. At his request a police officer …に出席するd but, said Mr Jones: ‘It was plainly evident that he was keeping to the 政治上 訂正する code.’

He 需要・要求するd that the officer should 逮捕（する） him if there was a 事例／患者 against him, but was told ‘that we now live in a different time and some things are not to be said’.

BA said: ‘Our 顧客 service 経営者／支配人 did everything possible to hel p 解決する the 状況／情勢. The 顧客 then 完全にするd his 旅行.’

消防士 Sam was created by Mr Jones and fellow 消防士 Dave Gingell, who （機の）カム up with the idea when both worked at Clerkenwell 解雇する／砲火／射撃 駅／配置する in London.
