Oprah Winfrey may be known for her favourite things, but eating with her 手渡すs is 明確に not one of them.
The queen of talk, 58, has 点火(する)d uproar in India after she is heard asking whether Indian people still 'eat with their 手渡すs.'
The 議論の的になる comment (機の)カム as she sat 負かす/撃墜する to dine with the Somani family in Mumbai.

But as members of the family explain the cuisine, Oprah asks: 'I heard some Indian people eat with their 手渡すs still.'

The comments drew 激しい 批評 from Indian 国民s, who 爆破d Oprah for her insensitivity to Indian customs and traditions.
FirstPost.com columnist Rajyasree Sen called the OWN テレビ放送 'Myopic, unaware, ignorant and gauche' and 'Middle America at its best worst.'
Aseem Chhabra, a freelance 新聞記者/雑誌記者 and columnist for the Mumbai Mirror, told ABC News: 'It's all the stereotypes and all the clich?s the West has, between the elephants and the palaces and the snake charmers and cows.'

In an open letter to Oprah that appeared on IBNLive.in.com, Rituparna Chatterjee wrote: 'As a responsible public 人物/姿/数字 about to 空気/公表する a show that will be beamed across the world, you should have done your homework.'
The letter goes on: ‘Using our 手渡すs to eat is a 井戸/弁護士席-設立するd tradition and a fact 非,不,無 of us are ashamed of. Our 経済的な distinction has nothing to do with it.
'A millionaire here eats the same way a pauper does. You have been to Asian nations. You should know that.'

Even Bollywood slammed Oprah, as actors and actresses took to Twitter to vent about the show.
Actress and TV host Maria Goretti tweeted: 'It is so sad... that someone as inspirational as [Oprah] just did not get the pulse of India.'
In a 声明 to MailOnline, a spokeswoman for Harpo Studios, which produces the show, said: 'The 意向 of the program was to 調査する the beautiful culture and spirit of the country.
'We enjoyed the time we spent there and were touched by the people who so generously 株d their stories for the show.'
The (映画の)フィート数 was filmed in January when the 雑談(する) show queen visited to film Oprah’s Next 一時期/支部, a programme on her OWN 網状組織.
It wasn’t the only trouble that Oprah made for herself while visiting India.
