An 年輩の army 退役軍人 lay dying in the street while a heartless どろぼう emptied his wallet and drained his bank account drained, an 検死 heard today.

David Gwynne-James' bank cards were used at a cash machine as little as two minutes after the 74-year-old 崩壊(する)d with a heart attack.

The retired captain and 軍の history author had been 準備するing to …に出席する a Remembrance Day service at Westminster Abbey, having organised 記念のs for his former 連隊, the King's Shropshire Light Infantry.

He was pronounced dead two days later on November 11 last year, having 苦しむd a 大規模な skull fracture and brain 損失 in the 落ちる, Westminster 検死官's 法廷,裁判所 was told.

His 未亡人, Charmian, only 設立する out about the fraudulent 処理/取引s when checking his bank 声明 two months later, by which time police had no leads because 決定的な CCTV (映画の)フィート数 had been 削除するd.

Mr Gwynne-James had travelled to London from his home in White Notley, 近づく Witham in Essex, on November 9.

At around 11pm, after spending the evening drinking with old friends at the Cavalry and Guards Club in Piccadilly he 始める,決める off alone to find his hotel.

'It was used a few times the day after in the east of London, in a few shops, before the bank raised a 怪しげな 警報,' she said.

Some £1,400 was 孤立した in cash, with 処理/取引s 記録,記録的な/記録するd in Walthamstow, east London, and Romford, Essex, before the account was 封鎖するd.

探偵,刑事 Constable Rothera said Mr Gwynne-James may have been watched as he entered his PIN code at a cash machine earlier that evening.

She said: 'This is one 可能性 of how the 嫌疑者,容疑者/疑うs got his PIN numbers.

'We don't know whether that did happen.

'It is only 憶測 as to how this card was taken from Mr Gwynne-James.'

Mr Gwynne-James failed to 回復する consciousness after 存在 taken to nearby St Mary's Hospital, where a CT ざっと目を通す 明らかにする/漏らすd he had 苦しむd a '重要な traumatic brain 傷害'.

She said: 'It is only 憶測 as to how this card was taken from Mr Gwynne-James.

'I do not think that this 法廷,裁判所 can ever really know.

'There is no 関係 between this and his その後の death.

'I am 満足させるd, on the balance of probabilities, that Mr Gwynne-James died as a result of natural 原因(となる)s.'

Turning to the family, she 追加するd: 'Sorry we have not been able to explain why his 所持品 disappeared, or how they disappeared.'
