Helium and barbiturates 与える／捧げるd to more deaths last year than ecstasy, cannabis, mephedrone and GHB, 統計（学） have 明らかにする／漏らすd.

Deaths where barbiturates, a type of depressant, were 巻き込むd rose from six in 2007 to 37 last year, によれば 人物／姿／数字s from the Office for 国家の 統計（学）.

The 麻薬s, on which it is possible to overdose, have been 利用できる on prescription. However, the number of prescriptions made out for barbiturates have fallen by half, it was 報告（する）／憶測d.

In the same period, the number of deaths linked to helium - an inert gas - leapt from just two to 42.

In comparison, ecstasy use was linked with 13 deaths last year while there were just seven cannabis-関係のある deaths. コカイン （人命などを）奪う，主張するd the lives of 112 people.

Almost all of those who died taking barbiturate and helium were 記録，記録的な／記録するd as 自殺s. Helium in particular has seen a 法外な rise in its use.

Between 1993 and 2007 just 18 people died using the gas.

The rise could be せいにするd, in part, to websites that 刺激する people to take their own lives using barbiturates or helium, 選挙運動者s 警告するd as they called for tighter internet 規則.

Papyrus, an anti-自殺 group, 非難するd the 増殖 of 'how to' 自殺 websites which 促進する 麻薬 overdoses.

Stephen Habgood - the organisation's board of trustees whose son committed 自殺 using helium in 2009 - 述べるd the 場所／位置s as 'insidious' as those which groom children for sex.

He told the 独立した・無所属: 'We have known about these 場所／位置s for some time and are ロビーing the 政府 to take 活動／戦闘 and the マスコミ not to give them 広範囲にわたる ニュース報道.

'But the 政府 seems to feel that the 現在の 法律制定, which makes it 違法な to encourage 自殺, is enough.'

Mr Habgood also said that he had approached 製造業者s of cannisters used to 治める helium to tell them they were 存在 used in 自殺s.

He said that most of the time, the companies were unaware of the link.

However, Mr Habgood said he believed the true number could be as much as 20 per cent higher than the ONS 人物／姿／数字s 予定 to the 不本意 of 検死官s to 記録，記録的な／記録する a 判決 of 自殺 in 検死s.

There has been a 落ちる in deaths 伴う／関わるing ヘロイン or another opiate, which ONS says points to 証拠 of a 'ヘロイン 干ばつ' in the UK.

Results from the British 罪，犯罪 調査する, the ONS says, 示唆する there was a 重要な 拒絶する／低下する in the 割合 of 16-to-59-year-olds 報告（する）／憶測ing use of ヘロイン in the last month between 2009-10 and 2010-11.

This is 支援するd up by 証拠 from the NHS's 国家の 治療 機関 for 実体 Misuse which said that the number of adults newly entering 治療 for ヘロイン and 割れ目 use has fallen by 15% in two years.

'[The data] 示唆するs that this 拒絶する／低下する is probably 予定 to 減ずるd 需要・要求する rather than any 不足（高） in services,' said the ONS.

'These factors may explain the 拒絶する／低下する in deaths 伴う／関わるing ヘロイン/morp hine that has been seen over the last couple of years'
