Superhuman... and then some! Five 競技者s who symbolise 勝利 of will over adversity

They are the images which sum up the spirit of the 競技者s who have been dubbed The Superhumans.

Each has 設立する their own remarkable way to 打ち勝つ their disability and 成し遂げる to the highest level in their chosen 冒険的な discipline.

While one 二塁打 amputee 開始する，打ち上げるs herself into a swimming race by clenching a towel tightly in her teeth, an archer uses his feet to position his 屈服する.

In 卓球, a competitor balances a ball on her 無能にするd upper arm before serving and in cycling a rider uses a 特に balanced bike to 力／強力にする himself around the velodrome on one 脚.

観客s have been astounded at the 業績／成果s. Here we take a look at five of the 競技者s who have drawn gasps of 賞賛s and 賞賛 from the （人が）群がるs.

MASTER ARCHER

Remarkable: American Archer Matt Stutzman competes in the London Paralympics by 持つ／拘留するing the 屈服する between his toes and using a harness on his shoulder to pull 支援する the arrow

So she clenched a towel tightly in her teeth, before leaping backwards at the start of the 100m 背泳 at the Paralympic pool yesterday.

力／強力にするd only by her 脚s, she sw am to gold in a world 記録，記録的な／記録する-breaking time of 1.24.71? 製図／抽選 roars from the 16,000 観客s who packed into the Aquatics Centre in Stratford.

She （警官の）巡回区域，受持ち区域 Britain’s Nyree Kindred, who has the use of her 武器, into second place.

Lu Dong is also to compete in the 50m バタフライ later in the Games.

STAR SWIMMER

Chinese swimmer Tao Zheng broke the world 記録，記録的な／記録する in the men’s s6 100metres 背泳 yesterday.

He won the race taking gold in a 記録，記録的な／記録する time of 1:13.56. He is competing in three other events, 含むing the 50m 自由型, 50m バタフライ and 200m individual medley.

PING PONG PRODIGY

'Disability is nothing': One-武装した 卓球 player Natalia Partyka has won golds and silvers in both the Olympics and Paralympics

She repeated her gold and silver feat in the same way at the 2008 Beijing Olympics and Paralympics.

BRAVERY ON A BIKE

Spanish cyclist Juan Jose Mendez competed in the individual C1-2-3 1km cycling time 裁判，公判 yesterday.

With only the use of his 権利 arm and 権利 脚, the 58-year-old gritted his teeth as he approached the finish line at the Velodrome.

The bike used by Mendez has a 特に adapted seat in which he places his left 脚 ーするために balance.

He 成し遂げるd valiantly in the event, finishing 24th.The cyclist also competed at the Beijing Games in 2008. 愛称d Juanjo, he is also a keen swimmer and model-製造者.
