Former 大統領 George Bush was given a 一連の direct 警告s throughout 2001 about the 可能性 of a テロリスト attack by Al Qaeda - but failed to take them 本気で, it was （人命などを）奪う，主張するd today.

On the eleventh 周年記念日 of the 残虐（行為）, it has been 報告（する）／憶測d that the White House received 多重の 簡潔な／要約するs between May and August that year about an attack with 爆発性のs and 非常に／多数の 死傷者s.

But the 大統領，／社長 continually failed to take any 重要な 活動／戦闘 and questioned the thoroughness of the 要点説明s - 主要な to 抱擁する 失望／欲求不満s within the 中央情報局.

The retrospective 報告（する）／憶測 was lambasted as '不公平な' and a 'disservice to history' by George Pataki, the New York 明言する／公表する 知事 during 9/11 who 賞賛するd Bush's leadership in the months after the attacks.

Just a few weeks later on September 11, テロリストs 粉砕するd 計画（する）s into the World 貿易（する） 中心 in New York City - 殺人，大当り nearly 3,000 people and horrifying the world.

詳細（に述べる）s of the other 要点説明s given to Mr Bush and his 行政 - which have never been made public - have now been 明らかにする／漏らすd by The New York Times.

And they paint a startling picture of 怠慢，過失 at the heart of the U.S. 政府 before 9/11.

The White House was made aware of 可能性のある attacks in the spring and, by May 1, was told by the 中央情報局 that 'a group presently in the 部隊d 明言する／公表するs' was planning a テロリスト attack, t he Times 報告（する）／憶測d.

In another daily 簡潔な／要約する on June 22, the 行政 was told that Al Qaeda strikes could be '切迫した'.

However, the new neoconservative leaders at the 米国防総省 told the White House that the 中央情報局 had been fooled.

They believed that 貯蔵所 Laden was pretending to 計画（する） an attack to distract the U.S. from Iraqi leader? Saddam Hussein.

Another 警告 on July 1 said にもかかわらず the attack 存在 延期するd it would soon take place.

But にもかかわらず these 警告s the White House did not appear to take them as 本気で as the 中央情報局 was 需要・要求するing.

The Times 報告（する）／憶測s that 公式の／役人s within the 中央情報局's Counterterrorism 中心 became ますます angry and in one 会合 an 公式の／役人 示唆するd the staff request a 移転 so they could not be 非難するd when the attack occurred.

The White House was also told that the 極端論者 Ibn Al-Khattab - known for his links to A l Qaeda - told his 信奉者s in Chechnya that there would ' be big news soon', the Times 報告（する）／憶測d.

Bush was told on July 24 that the attack was still 存在 用意が出来ている but 追加するd that it had been 延期するd by a few months. However, he did not think the 要点説明s were 適する and requested a much more 詳細（に述べる）d 分析 of Al Qaeda.

This was to be the famous 要点説明 of August 6 which was 結局 秘密制限を解除するd by the White House in April 2004 and made public.

'The 行政's reaction to what Mr. Bush was told in the weeks before that 悪名高い 要点説明 反映するd 意味ありげに more 怠慢，過失 than has been 公表する／暴露するd,' Kurt Eichenwald wrote in the piece for the New York Times.

'On September 11th everything changed and to look 11 years later and say, "Aha, this was happening before September 11th in the summer" and go though and selectively say, "You should've done that, you should've done that" I think is incredibly 不公平な and a disservice to history.
