Next to the 影をつくる/尾行する is a pile of salt, which 専門家s say would have been 広範囲にわたって understood by Victorian men as an emblem for ejaculation.
The 発見 is likely to 増加する 利益/興味 in the 絵, which has been 任命する/導入するd as the first work of art that 訪問者s will 遭遇(する) at a new 展示 at the Tate Britain in London.
研究員s believe Millais 含むd the image to 警告する against overindulgence in self-乱用 - an 勧める which, it was 示唆するd at the time, 原因(となる)d a man to be unable to 治める/統治する himself.
Millais was 19 when he produced the 1848 絵, which usually hangs in the Walker Art Gallery in Liverpool.
It was his first work as a member of the Pre-Raphaelite Brotherhood, a group of artists which also 含むd Dante Gabriel Rossetti and William Holman 追跡(する).
The 絵 is based on a poem by John Keats, which is in turn derived from a tale by the 14th century Italian author Boccaccio.

Celebrated: John Everett Millais is believed to have 含むd the 驚くべき/特命の/臨時の image in his 絵 as a 警告 against masturbation
One of the curators of the 展示, Alison Smith, told Mail Online: 'I think it has to be intentional.
'It does relate to the 主題s that the 絵 is 演説(する)/住所ing.'
Ms Smith said the phallic 形態/調整 was probably not ーするつもりであるd to 示唆する that the man 願望(する)s his sister Isabella sexually.
It is more likely that it was 含むd as a 装置 to show the brother as a 'bestial, animal brute'.
'That is really 強調d by the fact he is 割れ目ing a nut with the nutcracker,' Ms Smith said, 'and he has this rapier-like 脚 which, if you follow its line, points 直接/まっすぐに into the womb of Isabella.'
Carol Jacobi, Tate's curator of British Victorian art, first noticed the 影をつくる/尾行する in the 1990s and is about to publish a paper about it.
'It's not about 異性愛の sex,' she told the Times. 'I think it's やめる important that it's 自動車-erotic because it links in with what Keats is 説 about the character of the man as selfish, 全く driven by his own appetites.'
Dr Jacobi a dded: 'In fact it's an example of how incredibly innovative and 勇敢な (the Pre-Raphaelites were).
'Millais was the golden boy of the 王室の 学院. He was a paragon. It's incredibly 勇敢な to break so many 支配するs.'
Millais is perhaps best known for his 絵 of a 溺死するing Ophelia, which is one of the Tate's most adored 作品.
The 展示, called Pre-Raphaelites: Victorian Avant-Garde, is 予定 to open tomorrow.
