農業者s 告発する／非難する BBC of letting 行動主義者s ハイジャック（する） 競争 after picture of badger was chosen for 前線 of Countryfile calendar

The BBC has been （刑事）被告 of 許すing animal 権利s 行動主義者s to ハイジャック（する） a 競争 after a picture of a badger was chosen for the 前線 cover of its Countryfile calendar.

The photograph of the badger was taken by テレビ視聴者 Dave Foker and made the final shortlist of 12 in a 競争 to choose pictures for Countryfile's 2013 calendar.

But 農業者s have 表明するd 怒り／怒る after the programme's テレビ視聴者s 投票（する）d for it to be used for the calendar cover.

While they chose the badger, the 裁判官s ? 含むing the presenter John Craven ? preferred a picture of a rainbow.

One 農業者, David Minish, turned to Twitter to 発言する／表明する his distaste at the choice.

'The cover of your new calendar is unfortunately 主題d. As 削減（する） as badgers may be to your テレビ視聴者s TB is destroying lives,' he said.

Bovine TB, which can be spread by badgers, leads to up to 30,000 cattle 存在 虐殺（する）d a year, at a cost to the 酪農場 産業 of around £90million.

The 列／漕ぐ／騒動 over the best way to 支配（する）／統制する it has been inflamed by the 政府 giving the go 長，率いる for trained marksmen to shoot up to 70 per cent of the badgers on 300 farms in West Gloucestershire and West Somerset later this year.

But critics favour other methods, 含むing ワクチン接種. They 告発する／非難する the 政府 of making a 決定／判定勝ち（する） based on politics rather than science and say that 熟考する／考慮するs have shown that culling badgers can 現実に foster the spread of the 病気, rather than slow it.

'If it was a staggeringly beautiful picture, I would understand. But if there was an underlying 動機 behind the choice, I would have a 不平（をいう）.'

Adam Quinney, the 副／悪徳行為 大統領，／社長 of the NFU, was also surprised. 'It did raise an eyebrow that they had chosen it, though it is a good picture.

'Of course we are not anti badger, we are anti TB.'

'I'm sure the BBC were aware of the political 関わりあい／含蓄s of the photograph of the badger,' said Jeff Hayden, 財政／金融 director at the Badger 信用 told the Daily Telegraph.

'We certainly enjoyed the irony of it and we're delighted that the photograph is on the cover.'

He 追加するd: 'My guess is that the BBC had nothing to do with it. It was chosen by the テレビ視聴者s, not the BBC.'

Countryfile's website says Mr Foker teaches photography at a college 近づく his home in Woking, Surrey, and took the picture of the badger in Caerlaverock, Dumfries.
