Britain’s biggest defence 取引，協定 崩壊（する）d yesterday 急落（する），激減（する）ing 35,000 職業s at BAE Systems into fresh 疑問.

German （ドイツなどの）首相／（大学の）学長 Angela Merkel torpedoed the £30billion 計画（する） to 合併する Britain’s biggest defence 請負業者 with フランス系カナダ人-German 航空 巨大（な） EADS.

The 決定／判定勝ち（する） was humiliating for the 設立 人物／姿／数字s who 支援するd the 計画（する）s in Britain, led by 閣僚 長官 Sir Jeremy Heywood.

BAE bosses （機の）カム under 圧力 to 辞職する last night as MPs, 投資家s and City 分析家s 警告するd that the botched 合併 now makes Britain’s biggest 製造業者 and 輸出業者 look ‘up for sale’ and 攻撃を受けやすい to a 引き継ぎ／買収 by a US 会社／堅い, which could also cost 職業s.

会談 were abandoned after weeks of 口論する人ing between BAE, EADS and the British, French and German 政府s.

The UK 政府 said it would 受託する a shareholding from Paris and Germany of no more than 9 per cent in the new company. But フラン 手配中の，お尋ね者 long-称する，呼ぶ／期間／用語 許可 to 増加する its holdings, and Germany said it would not 調印する up unless it was 許すd to keep parity with the French 火刑／賭ける.

Mr Wallace, who has 6,000 BAE 労働者s in his Wyre & Preston North 選挙区／有権者, told the Mail: ‘BAE is a brilliant British 商売／仕事. It’s time we believed a bit more in British 製造業の.

‘All of those people who listened to the 銀行業者s rather than the 投資家s and the 産業 should search themselves very 深く，強烈に about whether their 活動／戦闘s have 土台を崩すd BAE’s 未来 and those of the 労働者s in my 選挙区／有権者. I 含む in that all those people closely associated with Morgan Stanley.’

Former defence 大臣 Gerald Howarth said BAE had ‘an order 調書をとる／予約する of £40billion’ and ‘should plough its own furrow’.

He said the companies were ‘never going to be able to throw the yoke of French and German political 干渉，妨害’ .

The cronies behind the failed BAE 合併 should hang their 長，率いるs in shame

The implosion of the biggest 産業の 合併 of our time, the £30billion tie-up between BAE Systems and Airbus 製造者 EADS was all but 必然的な from the day it was 発表するd.

A 提案するd 取引，協定 that left the British, French an d German 政府s squabbling over the size of their 各々の 火刑／賭けるs ? not to について言及する one that had to be rubber-stamped by the 米国防総省 ? was doomed from the start.

Yet for weeks the foolhardy 経営者／支配人s of BAE and EADS (the European 航空学の Defence and Space Company) 圧力（をかける）d ahead with their grandiose ambitions, にもかかわらず the enormous political 障害s they must have known would 嘘（をつく） ahead. Indeed, the 決定／判定勝ち（する） of BAE chairman 刑事 Olver to 押し進める for this 取引，協定 was a piece of self-aggrandisement unequalled in 最近の times even in Britain’s testosterone-fuelled boardrooms.

And let us not forget that a 条項 relating to the 合併 meant that 長，指導者 (n)役員／(a)執行力のある Ian King would have collected a 可能性のある £18million in 株 選択s 同様に as a fat 年金 for life if the 取引，協定 had gone ahead.

What an irony that in the end it took the アイロンをかける will of German （ドイツなどの）首相／（大学の）学長 Angela Merkel, uneasy at what she 恐れるd would be a loss of German 影響（力） in the 合併するd company, to kill off a 取引，協定 that had been ひどく 支援するd by the British 政府.

Merkel’s 乗り気 to stand up for German 製造業の contrasts with Britain’s cowardice in the 直面する of a 取引，協定 which some 観察者／傍聴者s 恐れるd would lead to the loss of tens of thousands of 職業s in this country.

The 詳細（に述べる）s of the 取引，協定 were barely known when it was 発表するd to the London 在庫／株 交流 last month. Yet David Cameron, Nick Clegg and 商売／仕事 長官 Vince Cable were 落ちるing over each other to let it be known they were 概して in favour.

One can only imagine the 規模 of the behind-the-scenes ロビーing 伴う／関わるing the 閣僚 長官 Sir Jeremy Heywood, 以前は of Morgan Stanley - which just happened to be the 投資 bank advising on the 取引，協定 ? and City communications puppet master Alan Parker, that went on to 納得させる our 主要な 政治家，政治屋s of the 長所s of the 合併.

Parker is 創立者 of the powerful public relations 会社／堅い Brunswick, which manages PR for BAE and sits at the heart of a nexus of 上級の New 労働 人物／姿／数字s, many of them 伴う／関わるd in the 取引，協定.

There was Tim Allan, an ex-負かす／撃墜するing Street 補佐官 under Tony Blair who 始める，決める up a City PR 会社／堅い Portland which ロビーd for BAE; Blair’s former No 10 spin doctor Alastair Campbell, who sits on the （a）忠告の／（n）警報 board of Portland; Jonathan Powell, Blair’s former No 10 長，指導者 of Staff and managing director at Morgan Stanley; and Sir John Scarlett, the former 長，率いる of MI6 and now 顧問 at Morgan Stanley.

However, the 欠陥s in the 取引，協定 ? many of them exposed in this paper ? were evident from the start. BAE Systems has grown into Britain’s biggest 輸出業者 thanks to years spent cultivating the 米国防総省.

But conversely, this made the Americans very nervous about the prospect of BAE’s defence 科学（工学）技術 存在 統合するd into a new company based in フラン or Germany.

They 提案するd that all defence 利益／興味s in the new company would be （犯罪の）一味-盗品故買者d under the 保護 of a board of directors controlled from the US. But even then, the idea that フランス系カナダ人-German defence 専門家s would be 許すd into this 協定 was ludicrous.

One fallacy BAE 申し込む／申し出d in its support of the 合併 was that defence 予算s are doomed to become ever more 減ずるd: thus, it argued, it was sensible for the company to diversify into areas other than 軍の 科学（工学）技術.

Yet 騒動 in the Middle East, from Syria to Iran, and the 論争 between 中国 and Japan over islands in the South 中国 Sea, を強調する the 戦略の and 軍の challenges to be 直面するd in the coming months and years.

What is most 悪化させるing about this whole fiasco is the 失敗 of 影響力のある 発言する／表明するs in Britain, with the 著名な exception of Tory 無所属の政治家 David Davis, to see the obvious 欠陥s in the 取引，協定.

Wise 長，率いるs should have known from bitter experience that 許すing defence companies in particular to 合併する with overseas 会社／堅いs nearly always ends in 涙／ほころびs, with a loss of 支配（する）／統制する of the 商売／仕事.

In making the 産業の 事例／患者 for the 創造 of a European 航空宇宙学 巨大（な） even bigger than Boeing, BAE also failed to 認める that it was the company’s own ineptitude that 除去するd its 影響（力） over Airbus 生産／産物 in the first place ? 影響（力） it sought to 回復する with the 提案するd 合併. In 2006, it decided to sell its Airbus 火刑／賭ける to EADS.

BAE also paid too little attention to its real owners ? the 会・原則s which 持つ／拘留する the 在庫／株 on に代わって of millions of 私的な 投資家s.

Now, having failed to come up with a winning 戦略 for BAE to stand alone, にもかかわらず operating 利益（をあげる）s of a handsome £1.58billion last year, both BAE chieftains ? Olver and King ? should be 排除する／（飛行機などから）緊急脱出するd from the 操縦室.

And as for our pusillanimous 政治家，政治屋s, they should hang their 長，率いる in shame for even considering 手渡すing over the 命令（する） of one of our most successful 商売／仕事s to foreign 力／強力にするs.
