A British トロール船 captain has been 罰金d £22,000 and banned from fishing for a year after 存在 設立する 有罪の in a French 法廷,裁判所 of switching-off his ship's locater beacon and 不法に poaching scallops off the Normandy coast.

Andrew Nicholson, 51, from Dumfries in Scotland was stopped by the French 海軍 in September and ordered to return 14 トンs of scallops to the sea which he had collected from the Bay of the Seine 近づく Le Havre.

His dredger Mattanja, which is owned by TN トロール船s based in Annan,Scotland, was 護衛するd to Ouistreham on the Normandy coast and a 裁判官 ordered the owners to 支払う/賃金 a 大規模な £120,000 保釈(金) before it was 許すd to sail out of the port.

The 法廷,裁判所 in Caen heard that an 査察 of the Mattanja's 器具s 設立する that the transponder which 記録,記録的な/記録するs the exact positions of a 大型船 over a given period of time had been switched off.

The 船長/主将 of one UK トロール船 called for 保護 by the 王室の 海軍 after a violent 衝突/不一致 with the French.

The 先頭 Dijck is 登録(する)d in Brixham, Devon, and owned by Englishman Andrew McLeod.

In October Mr McLeod said the 王室の 海軍 should be used to 保護する fishermen from その上の attacks by the French.Mr McLeod said: '保護 from the 王室の 海軍 is something we've been asking for for some time.'

Mr Francoise 認める that part of the French problem is that 地元の fishermen have failed to 始める,決める up 地元の factories and modernise their 産業, preferring to sell scallops in their natural 明言する/公表する to housewives at markets.
