Intrigue: Diana Tatosova

Intrigue: Diana Tatosova

Diana Tatosova is いっそう少なく a Rumpole of the Bailey than a lawyer imagined by a James 社債 screenwriter after several vodka Martinis.

Pouting, long-legged and pneumatic, with a predilection for cycling in 肌-tight ジーンズs and a skimpy vest, 行方不明になる Tatosova makes our own love-絡まる Leveson 調査 barrister Carine Patry Hoskins seem more fusty bluestocking than courtroom サイレン/魅惑的な.

Married mother-of-two Patry Hoskins, you will remember, flew to the ‘honeymoon Greek island’ of Santorini with a barrister 代表するing Hugh 認める and other celebrities who want statutory 圧力(をかける) regula tion, while the 調査 into 圧力(をかける) 倫理学 was still in 進歩.

They (人命などを)奪う,主張するd they had 単に ‘discussed the 可能性 of a 未来 関係 and decided against it’.

But they changed their minds and became a couple after the 調査 had ended.

Their behaviour is now the 支配する of an 調査 by the 妨げる/法廷,弁護士業 基準s Board into possible 違反s of the professional code of 行為/行う. Were the Leveson 調査’s findings 妥協d?

In Russia, 壊れやすい 圧力(をかける) freedoms are also at 火刑/賭ける.

A 犯罪の 裁判,公判, which could end in the 監禁,拘置 of 億万長者 Alexander Lebedev, the biggest 株主 in the country’s main 対立 newspaper, approaches its 最高潮.

As it does so the 蒸し暑い 行方不明になる Tatosova’s own どの辺に and tweets about her 私的な life have been attracting no little attention.

The 32-year-old is 合法的な 助言者 to Sergei Polonsky, a ロシアの 所有物/資産/財産 大君, whom Mr Lebedev punched during a TV talk show in September 2011.

Mr Lebedev, 53, is the co-owner of the 大統領 Vladimir Putin-批判的な Novaya Gazeta.

His son, Evgeny, owns four British newspapers, 含むing The 独立した・無所属 and London’s Evening 基準. Whether or not Lebedev 上級の was 刺激するd by a 一連の 脅しs from Polonsky, the resulting, undignified scrimmage was enjoyed by millions of テレビ視聴者s.

Yet what appeared to be little more than a playground dust-up is now 存在 起訴するd as ‘hooliganism 動機づけるd by p olitical 憎悪’.

An image aired on Russian TV yesterday purporting to show Sergei Polonsky in Israel this week

An image 空気/公表するd on ロシアの TV yesterday 趣旨ing to show Sergei Polonsky in イスラエル this week

If 設立する 有罪の, Mr Lebedev, one of the fiercest critics of the 汚職 that 繁栄するs under Putin’s 政権, 直面するs up to five years in 刑務所,拘置所.

He says the 事例/患者, which started last month and 再開するs tomorrow, is an 行為/法令/行動する of political ‘復讐’, a ‘vendetta’ and an 試みる/企てる to have him and his newspaper ‘silenced’.

He has already intimated to me that the loss-making Novaya Gazeta newspaper, several of whose investigative 新聞記者/雑誌記者s or 接触するs have died in mysterious circumstances, would have to の近くに as a result.

A bank he owns has also been (警察の)手入れ,急襲d by police. He says even his swimming pool is ‘bugged’.

But there is a big problem with the 裁判,公判. Polonsky, the main 起訴 証言,証人/目撃する, has not been 利用できる to …に出席する 法廷,裁判所.

If this had happened in most western 裁判権s, there would have been only one 結果: 事例/患者 解任するd.

But this is Putin’s Russia, where even the dead ar e called to account.?

Sergei Magnitsky, an accountant who blew the whistle on a £140 million 税金 詐欺, is 現在/一般に ‘直面するing’ 裁判,公判 on 税金 回避 告発(する),告訴(する)/料金s. No 事柄 that he died in police 保護/拘留 in 2009.

The farce is eloquent 証拠 of the country’s 支配者s’ obsession with making an example of those who take on the Kremlin’s 増加するing 権威主義.

So where is Mr Polonsky? Television (映画の)フィート数 空気/公表するd yesterday in イスラエル and Russia showed a man looking very like the absent 大君 in the Israeli city of Tel Aviv.

Was it Polonsky? If so, he really should not have been there at all.

What is known for 確かな is that until 早期に April he was in a 刑務所,拘置所 独房 in Cambodia, the result of yet another bizarre altercation 伴う/関わるing the 申し立てられた/疑わしい 強襲,強姦 and kidnapping of a number of 地元の sailors.

We will 診察する that in 詳細(に述べる) later. 行方不明になる Tatosova was subsequently pictured visiting him in 保護/拘留 in the Cambodian town of Sihanoukville.

公式に, Mr Polonsky remains on 保釈(金) in Cambodia 未解決の his own 裁判,公判. But when 接触するd by the Mail two weeks ago, his 地元の lawyer, Kong Radi, 認める: ‘I don’t know where he is.’

He? 確認するd that his (弁護士の)依頼人’s 保釈(金) 条件s did not 許す him to leave the country.

Yet a number of sources 主張する that Mr Polonsky, 40, had indeed skipped Cambodia soon after getting 保釈(金).

For his part, Mr Lebedev is 納得させるd that his nemesis has gone to ground 近づく Tel Aviv where, he says,? Polonsky hopes to be 認めるd 市民権.

Intriguingly, 行方不明になる Tatosova’s social マスコミ page 示唆するs that she, too, wa s in イスラエル until a few days ago.

Her 関与 in the 裁判,公判 刺激するd Mr Lebedev to provocatively tweet last week that she enjoyed more than a 厳密に professional 関係 with the man he calls ‘政治家 マリファナ-lonsky’, after the late Cambodian tyrant.

An understandably piqued 行方不明になる Tatosova 答える/応じるd with a tweet of her own to which she 大(公)使館員d a nude photograph of Mr Lebedev’s supermodel wife, Elena Perminova.

In loose translation the tweet read: ‘Please, enlighten me, what is your wife’s profession: model or 麻薬-売買業者?’

This was a 言及/関連 to the fact that as a 16-year-old, Mrs Lebedev was caught 取引,協定ing ecstasy pills.

As for discovering the どの辺に of the ‘逃亡者/はかないもの’ Polonsky, it is perhaps best to ‘cherchez la femme’ ― or, in ロシアの, ‘ischite zhenschinu’.

Facing trial: Alexander Lebedev

直面するing 裁判,公判: Alexander Lebedev

Polonsky strange 全世界の 長期冒険旅行 began on December 30 last year when he and two other ロシアのs were on a boat travelling from an island off the coast of Cambodia to the 本土/大陸.

Accounts 異なる, but the 公式の/役人 見解/翻訳/版 is that a drunken Polonsky got into a 論争 with the 大型船’s Cambodian sailors.

It was 申し立てられた/疑わしい the 地元のs were 軍隊d at knifepoint to jump into the sea, from which they were 救助(する)d by passing fishermen and a 海軍 boat. The captain was also 脅すd and locked in a cabin.

Although, Polonsky 否定するs all these 主張s, he and his friends were 掴むd by police and held in 刑務所,拘置所 for three months.

Enter Oleg Deripaska.

Last week it was (人命などを)奪う,主張するd that the Kremlin 現体制支持者/忠臣 oligarch played a 重要な 役割 in 安全な・保証するing Mr Polonsky’s 解放(する) from his Cambodian 刑務所,拘置所 独房.

The world’s 主要な metals 有力者/大事業家, Mr Deripaska has long 削減(する) a 議論の的になる 人物/姿/数字. He has a mansion in London but his U.S. ビザ was once 一時停止するd over 申し立てられた/疑わしい links ― which he 否定するs ― to organised 罪,犯罪.

He is best known in the UK for entertaining Peter Mandelson and the then 影をつくる/尾行する (ドイツなどの)首相/(大学の)学長 George Osborne 船内に his ヨット off Corfu in 2008.

The occasion led to a 抱擁する political 列/漕ぐ/騒動 in which Osborne was (刑事)被告 of using the 会合 to solicit Tory party 寄付s from Mr Deripaska.

Sources 示唆する that Mr Deripaska became 伴う/関わるd in Polonsky’s Cambodian 危機 at the 命令 of the ロシアの 政府.

Others 主張する that Mr Deripaska 介入するd to 安全な・保証する favourable 条件 in a 商売/仕事 事業/計画(する) in which he and Polonsky had a 共同の 利益/興味.

Who can say? This is just another 複雑にするd 商売/仕事 story in the Wild West that is modern Russia.

Whatever Deripaska’s 役割 or 動機づけ, Polonsky was 解放(する)d on 保釈(金) a day before Russia and Cambodia 調印するd a major 貿易(する) and 投資 協定.

行方不明になる Tatosova, then working f or Polonsky’s 上級の Moscow lawyer, told a ロシアの 無線で通信する 駅/配置する: ‘He can travel in Cambodia, but he can’t leave.’

Polonsky, she said, was ‘in excellent health’ and ‘very happy that 司法(官) has 勝つ/広く一帯に広がるd, at least 部分的に/不公平に’.

What happened next is いっそう少なく (疑いを)晴らす.

Several sources 示唆する that Polonsky then broke the 条件 of his 保釈(金), かもしれない by taking a boat to Thailand. Next, it was (人命などを)奪う,主張するd, he took a ‘外交の’ 計画(する) to Geneva.

The ロシアの 外交官/大使 to Cambodia has 否定するd any 関与 in such a 旅行.

For his part, Mr Lebedev says that Polonsky was definitely in Geneva, where he got 伴う/関わるd in an angry 対決 with 公式の/役人s at the スイスの-owned Banque 遺産.

Mr Lebedev also (人命などを)奪う,主張するs that Oleg Deripaska flew to Geneva last month to 会合,会う the 逃亡者/はかないもの 大君 with whom he has had a 株d 利益/興味 in a prime piece of central Moscow real 広い地所.

Mikhail Dvorkovich, a の近くに friend of Polonsky and brother of the ロシアの 副/悪徳行為-首相, has said that Deripaska used 影響(力) to get the 大君 保釈(金) in Cambodia: ‘Deripaska helped Polonsky because he asked for help.’

A source の近くに to Deripaska told me: ‘Deripaska was 仕事d with getting Polonsky out of Cambodia because he was putting shame on Russia.’

A third 報告(する)/憶測 (人命などを)奪う,主張するd that Deripaska’s company, Basic Element, was 申し込む/申し出ing Polonsky 合法的な support.

If this is true, then Polonsky was certainly in Deripaska’s 負債.

In fact, he is in 負債 to a lot of people に引き続いて the みごたえのある 崩壊(する) of his 所有物/資産/財産 empire まっただ中に the 2008 財政上の 衝突,墜落.

With creditors 現在/一般に 選ぶing over its remains, Polonsky may have to sell 株 in his 生き残るing company Potok. Russia’s biggest 貸す人, Sberbank, has called in a $373 million 貸付金 and 辞退するd to 延長する any more credit.

So what is the truth about (人命などを)奪う,主張するs that Deripaska helped Polonsky ーするために 削減(する) a 取引 取引,協定?

Last night, in 返答 to questions about the oligarch’s 役割 in his fellow ロシアの’s 解放(する) from a Cambodian 刑務所,拘置所, about the 申し立てられた/疑わしい Geneva 会合 and about Moscow 所有物/資産/財産 取引,協定s, a spokeswoman for Deripaska’s 会社/堅い Basic Element said: ‘We do not comment.’

So why doesn’t Polonsky go 支援する to Russia ― if a を取り引きする the Cambodian 合法的な 当局 can be arranged?

The answer seems to be that neither his safety ― nor his liberty ― can be 保証(人)d.

His friend Mr Dvorkovich had said: ‘Something tells me that if he gets 支援する to Russia he won’t enjoy freedom for that long, because for some 推論する/理由 there are a lot of people who want to take 復讐 on him.

‘There are no 合法的な (民事の)告訴s (in Russia) against him as far as I know. But still I’ve got the feeling that it’s better if he stays outside Russia.’ That is the reality of 商売/仕事, Moscow-style. But still the question: where is he?

Of course, one person who should know his どの辺に is his lawyer, Diana Tatosova. Last month, the 裁判官 in the Lebedev 裁判,公判 発表するd that she was joining Polonsky’s 法廷,裁判所-room 合法的な team ― having returned from her 義務s in Cambodia.

It’s fair to say that her 外見 in 法廷,裁判所 原因(となる)d m’learned friends’ 注目する,もくろむs to pop. Even Lebedev’s septuagenarian 上級の counsel, Genri Reznik, seemed taken with her.

When he asked 行方不明になる Tatosova if she was a member of the Moscow 議会 of lawyers, she smiled at him and purred: ‘Are you not sure of my 資格s?’

Reznik 噴出するd 支援する: ‘No, just wondering where we train such beautiful lawyers!’

Since then, of course, relations have soured, 最高潮に達するing in last week’s Twitter war between her and Mr Lebedev.

When I spoke to Mr Lebedev, he 小衝突d off 行方不明になる Tatosova’s Twitter 発言/述べるs about his 26-year-old wife’s ‘麻薬-売買業者’ past.

‘This is a 井戸/弁護士席-known story,’ he said. ‘Elena was fooled by a former boyfriend when she was very young.’

In fact, she was 逮捕(する)d, 老年の 16, after she was caught 取引,協定ing ecstasy pills and was subsequently 説得するd to help the police catch a ‘Mr Big’ in the 地元の 麻薬s world.

With no 嘆願 取引ing in Russia, Elena still 直面するd a six-year 刑務所,拘置所 宣告,判決. But her father 接触するd Mr Lebedev, who was then the 地元の MP, and with his help the 宣告,判決 was 一時停止するd.

She and Lebedev married some time later and went on to have two sons together.

Now, of course, Mr Lebedev is grappling with much more serious 合法的な 事柄s.

He says he doesn’t 推定する/予想する the 法廷,裁判所 to stop his ‘hooliganism’ 裁判,公判 because of Polonsky’s absence, but wants to 証明する that the latter is a ‘very serious contempt’. Nor is he 確信して of a favourable 判決, as the 無罪放免 率 in Russia for such 告発(する),告訴(する)/料金s stands at 0.4 per cent.

Last night 行方不明になる Tatosova, who appears to be 支援する in Russia 未解決の the 再開 of the Lebedev 裁判,公判,? took 問題/発行する with the 被告’s 発言/述べるs.

She said: ‘Lebedev feels that he’s losing the 裁判,公判 and he’s getting angry. Here again he is 論証するing his bad manners by lowering himself to some 原始の tricks.’

In 返答 to the 疑問s cast about her background and 合法的な 資格s, she retorted: ‘Everyone knows that I have a respectable past. I have two higher educations and I’m doing my PhD. This is my first 事例/患者 with such high-最高位の people ― oligarchs ― but I 以前 had big 事例/患者s connected with テロ行為.’

She said that having been 侮辱d, she was perfectly する権利を与えるd to raise Mr Lebedev’s wife’s 麻薬-取引,協定ing 記録,記録的な/記録する. ‘That’s why I showed my teeth.’

As for suggestions she had a closer personal, rather than professional, 関係 with Polonsky, she says: ‘Sergei Polonsky is my (弁護士の)依頼人 and there’s nothing of the 肉親,親類d of thing Lebedev is talking about between us.

‘I know Sergei’s wife. If Lebedev .?.?. supposes Sergei Polonsky has a harem, then he is wrong.’

(In fact, earlier this year, while Polonsky was still in a Cambodian 刑務所,拘置所, a 主要な Moscow newspaper 報告(する)/憶測d that he had 分裂(する) last summer from his third wife, Yulia. They have three children together who were living with their mother in New York. Yulia was 引用するd as 説: ‘Our love story was too banal. Sergei has a new love.’)

When asked whether Polonsky was in イスラエル, 行方不明になる Tatosova was いっそう少なく emphatic.

‘I don’t understand all this “Polonsky-追跡(する)ing”? He can’t go to Moscow because of safety 推論する/理由s.’

She said she had last seen him in Cambodia almost two months ago. This week’s television (映画の)フィート数 from イスラエル does not 追加する credence to that account. Yesterday, she would not 確認する her (弁護士の)依頼人’s どの辺に, b ut 認める that he was 適用するing for Israeli 市民権.

One thing is (疑いを)晴らす, though: Polonsky’s fortunes are riding on an ebb tide. The Cambodians are furious at 報告(する)/憶測s of his 逃亡者/はかないもの travels and want him 支援する in South-East Asia to 直面する the music.

And 事柄s have just got worse for him at home. In Moscow on Friday, he was 告発(する),告訴(する)/料金d in absentia in 関係 with an 申し立てられた/疑わしい six billion ルーブル (£120 million) 所有物/資産/財産 詐欺 and put on the 連邦の 手配中の,お尋ね者 名簿(に載せる)/表(にあげる).

His use to the Kremlin 力/強力にする- 仲買人s is 明確に over. Better perhaps to stay 捕まらないで, abroad, while the delectable 行方不明になる Tatosova 成し遂げるs his 合法的な legwork.

付加 報告(する)/憶測ing: Will Stewart in Moscow.
