One of the American authors is Ruth Ozeki, 57, a Buddhist priest with a Canadian パスポート. She was born in New 港／避難所, Connecticut in the 部隊d 明言する／公表するs.
The other is Jhumpa Lahiri, 46, shortlisted for her novel The Lowland.
Born in London and of Indian origin, she was raised in Rhode Island and now lives in New York.

Mr Macfarlane said of the final six: ‘It is a shortlist that shows the English language novel to be a form of world literature.

The longlist was 著名な for its obscurity, after mostly unknown authors made the 指名／任命s and a number of big-指名する authors were overlooked, 含むing JM Coetzee, Roddy Doyle and Margaret Atwood.

At 28, she would be the youngest-ever 受取人 of the prize.
