Seaside towns have more divorcees than anywhere else in the country

Maybe it’s something in the sea 空気／公表する ? or the 遺産／遺物 of their kiss-me-quick culture.

But seaside towns have more 離婚s than anywhere else in the country.

Just 12 areas of the UK have a 割合 of 離婚d people higher than 11 per cent ? and they are all on the coast, によれば newly 解放（する）d 国勢（人口）調査 人物／姿／数字s.

Blackpool 最高の，を越すs the 名簿（に載せる）／表（にあげる）, where nearly one in eight 居住（者）s are 生存者s of a broken marriage.

Hastings is the centre of seaside 離婚 in the South, with a 類似の 人物／姿／数字 to its northern 相当するもの.

専門家s think the 傾向 may be 原因（となる）d by newly separated people 長，率いるing to the coast to start a new life. There are also more likely to be 離婚s の中で the 一般に older 全住民 of seaside towns.

Deprivation is not thought to be a factor, as many 沿岸の 離婚 hotspots are comparatively 井戸／弁護士席 off. Middle-class Torbay in Devon, for example, is third on the 名簿（に載せる）／表（にあげる）, while the 小島 of Wight, Weymouth and 価値（がある）ing also feature. The data, 含むd in the newly published 2011 国勢（人口）調査, 明らかにする／漏らすs a UK 普通の／平均（する） of 8.8 per cent.

人物／姿／数字s show a 離婚 割合 of about 11 per cent in the northern 地区s of Barrow-in Furness and north-east Lincolnshire, which 含むs the ports of Immingham and Grimsby and the 訴える手段／行楽地 of Cleethorpes.

In East Anglia, 11.4 per cent of the 全住民 of 広大な／多数の／重要な Yarmouth is 離婚d, while Weymouth and Torbay in the West Country both have 割合s higher than 12 per cent.

Every area on the 名簿（に載せる）／表（にあげる） is either a 訴える手段／行楽地 or has one nearby ? such as the 海軍の town of Gosport, which 含むs the popular beaches of 物陰／風下-on-the-Solent. Nowhere in Scotland, むちの跡s or Northern Ireland ? or inland anywhere ? has a 割合 over the 重要な 11 per cent 示す.

The Office for 国家の 統計（学）, which published the 人物／姿／数字s, has 申し込む／申し出d no explanation for the 現象.

However, high 率s of break-ups come まっただ中に 関心s over the failing economies of many seaside towns and questions about joblessness, 利益 dependency and low education levels.

Harry Benson of the Marriage 創立／基礎 think-戦車／タンク said: ‘It is tempting to imagine husbands and wives separating in, say, East London, then going to the seaside for a new life.

‘High levels of 圧力 and noise in cities can lead to 離婚.

‘There is 証拠 that low income is an 指示する人（物） of more likely family break-up. However seaside towns tend to have an older 全住民 and it may be because there are more older people that there are more 離婚s. The highest level of 分離 の中で couples is in inner city areas, but that is not where the 離婚s live.’

The 国勢（人口）調査 人物／姿／数字s also showed that major cities had the lowest 割合 of married people. In Islington, North London, only? 24.8 per cent of the 全住民 are married ? but only 7.4 per cent are 離婚d.
