Mrs Maher, who lives with her husband in an 排除的 gated 開発, where house prices 越える £1million, just outside the village, has now challenged her 有罪の判決 and was acquitted when Mr Davies failed to show up for the 控訴，上告 審理，公聴会.
The 被告's lawyer, Paul Anthony Lawton, told the 法廷，裁判所 that Mr Davies was able to 観察する the 騒動 in the restaurant through a hatch from the kitchen - and his 証拠 had called the 申し立てられた／疑わしい 犠牲者's account into question. Mr Lawton said: ‘The reality is that Mr Davies destroyed the 信用性 of Mr Snelson.’

He said there had 明確に been a 騒動 in a public place. He explained that Mr and Mrs Maher knew Mr Snelson but there was a suggestion that they had fallen out with him.
