Members of the Westboro Baptist Church 論証するd outside the Lorde concert in Kansas City Friday night, but a group of 反対する 抗議する人s had a more powerful message.

'Sorry for your loss,' read a 調印する held by anti-Westboro デモ参加者／実演宣伝者s, referring to the death last week of the church's longtime 牧師 Fred Phelps.

'We realized that it wasn't so much about antagonizing them,' Megan Coleman, who helped make the 調印する, told KSHB News. 'But sending out the 反対するd (声明) that we are here for people who need that message and need that positivity.'

After earlier 発表するing their 意向 to picket the Kiwi pop-星／主役にする's 関心, more than 20 抗議する人s turned up outside the Midland Theatre in Downtown Kansas City with the church's 署名 調印するs.

But on the other 味方する of the road, 居住（者）s took the higher ground, 申し込む／申し出ing 弔慰s after Phelps' death.

But longtime Westboro member, Steve Drain, said neither message made sense to him.

'I don't even know what they're 説,' he told KSHB.

Last week, Lorde took to Twitter to encourage her fans to 答える／応じる to 憎悪 with love.

Westboro Baptist Church 発表するd that they planned to picket outside the concert 発生地 in Missouri, Kansas on Friday.

Spotting this, the 17-year-old 王室のs singer tweeted her 返答 while on 小旅行する in Chicago on March 18.

Lorde asked her fans to wear rainbow 着せる／賦与するing and kiss Westboro members of the same sex, in 返答 to the church which is 悪名高くも anti-gay.

Lorde initially encouraged fans to hit back at the hate, but later deleted her tweets

Westboro Baptist Church, believed to have a few dozen members, famously 行う／開催する／段階 headline-grabbing 抗議するs at any event they みなす 'immoral,' 持つ／拘留するing 'God Hates Fags' 掲示s at the funerals of 兵士s, LGBT festivals and political events.

Fred Phelps Sr. started the Westboro Baptist Church in 1955, and the sect under his leadership has 抗議するd at hundreds of funerals of 軍の members killed in Iraq and Afghanistan as part of their 見解（をとる） that God is punishing America for 寛容 of gays and lesbians.
