Son, 55, 'stabbed his 年輩の mother to death then hanged himself after wrongly believing he had 癌 and wouldn't be able to 対処する'

A son stabbed his own 86-year-old mother to death then hanged himself, 令状ing that he was unable to '対処する with life anymore', an 検死 heard.
Stephen Dohoney, 55, killed Ethel Dohoney in the home they 株d after wrongly 結論するing that he had 癌, and that his mother would not be able to 生き残る without his care.
捜査官/調査官s called to the scene of the 殺人 in Wythenshawe, Gre ater Manchester last November 設立する a 公式文書,認める Dohoney had written explained why he 'sent her to heaven'.

An 検死 in Manchester today heard how Dohoney, a civil servant at the Department for Work and 年金s, was terrified of succumbing to 癌, which had also killed his older brother.
However, he did not have any form of the 病気, nor was there any 医療の 証拠 to 示唆する he did.

The 検死官 heard that Dohoney who had two degrees from Exeter University, had been a keen traveller who 'lived life to the 十分な' and loved reading, films and going to the theatre.
But he had taken 延長するd leave from his 職業 to care 十分な-time for his mother, whose physical and mental health had '速く 悪化するd' に引き続いて the death of her oldest son Kenneth from 癌 in 2012 老年の 62.
The death had 激しく揺するd the family and led Dohoney to worry about the 病気. He visited his GP but the doctor had 診断するd the 病気 sarcoidosis, where tissue on the 組織/臓器s becomes swollen.
Kenneth Dohoney's 未亡人 Christine said Mrs Dohoney, a former shorthand typist, 挟む-製造者 and cleaner had struggled since her son's death in September 2012 from leukaemia.

'She thought that she should have died instead of him,' she said in a 声明.
'Her health 悪化するd and she became 扶養家族 on Stephen. She stopped going out on her own and spent more time at home. They had never been apart except from when Stephen was at university.
'When Kenneth died Stephen took it upon himself to take a career break to look after her. Kenneth’s death 攻撃する,衝突する them both hard.
'She 悪化するd both 肉体的に and mentally. He was also ますます worried about his own health. From May of 2013 he was 脅すd he had 癌 like Kenneth.'
The 殺人 scene was discovered by a friend of Christine Dohoney, who checked on the house after she returned from holiday.

'He might have been struggling with his mental health and had become preoccupied with his own health.

'I 嫌疑者,容疑者/疑う he did have some form of mental health problem. 明白に that does not give him any 権利 to try and 害(を与える) anyone else, 特に his mother. He may have been doing so for in his mind trying to do the best he could for his mum but that is unlawful.'
