Emotional Andy Murray bursts into 涙／ほころびs at his old school in Dunblane as he is honoured with the freedom of Stirling

Wimbledon 支持する／優勝者 Andy Murray was 打ち勝つ when he received the freedom of Stirling at his former school, Dunblane High.

The 26-year-old arrived at the school with his girlfriend Kim Sears and was 麻薬を吸うd into 'Murray Hall' to receive the freedom of the city of Stirling, the greatest 市民の honour the 地元の 当局 can 会談する.

After receiving the award Murray 選ぶd up a microphone and told the audience: 'I'm going to keep this very short because there's a good chance I'll get emotional.

'It feels good to be home.'

Murray went on to say: 'I'd like to thank the 会議 for 投票（する）ing me in, I was 推定する／予想するing a few nos.

'I'd like to thank all my family and friends and girlfriend for coming to support me.'

He apologised as he took another break and was given a standing ovation as he said: 'I think everyone knows I'm 極端に proud of where I come from.

'It means a lot to me so thanks to everyone for coming along and I apologise for this behaviour.'?

In the afternoon he was awarded a 博士号 from Stirling University, recognising his service to tennis

Stirling Provost Mr Robbins bestowed the Freedom of the City, 説: 'I now 正式に 現在の Andy with the scroll which 会談するs upon him the freedom of the city of Stirling, here in Dunblane, and, from one Dunblane person to another, I'm delighted.'

The high school's choir 成し遂げるd Vivaldi's Gloria to open the 儀式 and finished by fittingly singing Will Ye No Come 支援する Again.

Murray returned to the school hall later for a 圧力（をかける） 会議／協議会 and explained what made him emotional. He said: 'I don't get the chance to come 支援する that often and I don't get the chance to see my family as much as I would like and I'm very proud of where I come from.

'So to get this honour from my 地元の 会議 means a lot. 'I don't think anyone would have really 推定する／予想するd it - tennis players don't really come from Scotland, so it's a strange story, but 証明するs that anything can happen if you believe and you dream and work hard, then you can 達成する whatever you want to, so it's a nice story.'

Murray joked: 'I don't think it's the 事例／患者 anymore but I might give it a go this eveni ng and see what happens.'

The tennis 星／主役にする was even asked about the 解雇（する）ing of David Moyes at Manchester 部隊d. He said: 'I don't think he deserved the way that he was 扱う／治療するd, but I'm sure he'll come 支援する and learn a lot from it and do a 広大な／多数の／重要な 職業 at another club. It just didn't, unfortunately, work out for him.'

He was 必然的に asked about any wedding 計画（する）s, and 答える／応じるd bluntly with: 'No, no'.

As he left the hall he paused to 雑談（する）, 調印する autographs and take 'selfie' photographs with pupils.

Sixth year pupil Alex McRae said: 'Everyone here is behind Andy at all his events so it was brilliant to 会合，会う him.

'He was 圧倒するd by the people who （機の）カム to see him and it was emotional for him. 'There's swimmers, footballers and tennis players in the school and I think everyone has been 動機づけるd by what he said.

'He even asked us about our exams and personal lives. He took a real 利益／興味 and it just shows that he's a nice guy.'

The 回廊（地帯）s of the schoo l are decorated with pictures of Murray and his brother Jamie celebrating their さまざまな tennis successes.

As Murray left the school hall for a 私的な 歓迎会, he hugged his father, who was sitting in the （人が）群がる. His girlfriend, Ms Sears, stayed behind 簡潔に after the 儀式 to speak to guests and laughed when schoolboys wolf-whistled as she left the hall.

Later he was 現在のd with the degree by the University of Stirling - where he used to play against students when he was younger.

He said: 'They're all a bit different but mean just as much. Every time I come 支援する here the support has been 圧倒的な.

The sportsman said he has been doing some 研究 on the Freedom of the City award but is still 自信のない of what it will 許す him to do.

He said: 'I've read a bit about it on the internet. I don't know 正確に／まさに what it lets me do but I don't think I can do anything different to anyone else.

'It's amazing, it doesn't happen that often, so it shows the support from the public, which has been unbelievable.' He 追加するd: 'I'm 感謝する to Stirling 会議, and the people of Scotland, for their continued belief and support, and want to thank them for bestowing on me this very special honour.'

The sportsman has not been inside the school since he left. The Freedom of Stirling has only been 認めるd on four previous occasions. Stirling 会議 decided to honour Murray after his success at the 2012 Olympics and his first Grand 激突する 勝利，勝つ in the U.S. later that year.

The tennis 星／主役にする's training and 競争 schedule meant he could only receive the Freedom of the City now. Murray is also visiting Wallace High School in Stirling today to 参加する in a live BBC Learning Broadcast, where he will 参加する a Q&A with schoolchildren across the UK.

Members of the public were encouraged to enter a 投票（する） for tickets to see Murray receive the Freedom of Stirling.

Hundreds of 入ること／参加（者）s were received, with around 200 地元のs 存在 招待するd to …に出席する the 儀式, streamed live to 地元の 最初の／主要なs. The tennis 星／主役にする spent last night at his new 高級な hotel, The Cromlix, on the 郊外s of Dunblane and was impressed with it.

He said: 'I just got here last night and it's the first time I've seen it since it's all been done and it looks 広大な／多数の／重要な.' He joked: 'I hope they 港／避難所't 告発（する），告訴（する）／料金d me for a room but I 港／避難所't checked out yet so we'll see.'
