The family of a British hotelier 恐れるd 殺人d on the Caribbean island of St Lucia have said they are 荒廃させるd by his death.

The family of Oliver Gobat 確認するd today that the 所有物／資産／財産 developer and former Surrey junior cricketer died last Friday.

A charred 団体／死体 was 設立する in a burnt-out car on the Cap 広い地所, an 排除的 訴える手段／行楽地 area on the island, hours after his family, who run a five-星／主役にする boutique hotel on the island, 報告（する）／憶測d him 行方不明の.

In a 声明 today, his family said: 'The Gobat family are 荒廃させるd by the sudden and 悲劇の death of their son and brother Oliver on Friday April 25 in St Lucia, the island where he was born and which he loved.

'We have been 圧倒するd by the outpouring of messages and love but we do need to grieve and we would ask for privacy at this time.

'There will be a 祝賀 of the life of Oliver Gobat held in St Lucia for family and friends this Saturday, May 3, from 5pm and a 記念の will be held in the UK in the 近づく 未来 with dates and 詳細（に述べる）s to follow.'

Though Mr Gobat was born in St Lucia, he held 共同の British and Caribbean 国籍.

After Mr Gobat's death, 二塁打 Olympic １０種競技 支持する／優勝者 Daley Thompson tweeted his 弔慰s.

He said: 'My love and thoughts go out to friends and family of Ollie Gobat. He was a gem and his family must have been so proud of him. RIP my friend. X'

BBC sports pundit and Olympic heptathlon gold medallist Denise 吊りくさび also tweeted her 弔慰s.

She said: 'Just read the shocking news about the death of Oliver Gobat. So very sad. My 弔慰s to his friends and family. Such a lovely guy.'

The sportsman has carried out fitness workshops at the family’s luxurious Cap Maison hotel on the island.

He wrote: 'My love&thoughts go out to friends&family of Ollie Gobat. he was a gem& his family must have been so proud of him. RIP my friend. X’

Unconfirmed 報告（する）／憶測s from St Lucia 示唆する Mr Gobat’s family 宿泊するd a ‘行方不明の person’ 報告（する）／憶測 with police after he failed to return home on Friday night.

競技者 Daley Thompson who knew the Gobat family today tweeted: 'My love&thoughts go out to friends&family of Ollie Gobat. he was a gem& his family must have been so proud of him. RIP my friend. X

The 乗り物 he owns matches the description of the 範囲 Rover which was discovered with the 団体／死体 inside around 9pm last Friday.

The creators of the hotel were the Gobat family, Theo and Helen and their three sons Rufus, Adam and Oliver.

The dead man’s parents, who live in Esher, Surrey, are understood to have flown out to St Lucia.

Theo Gobat, 74, was born in Chester and trained as an accountant and moved to St Lucia in 1974 as 財政／金融 director of a hotel and travel company which then went 破産者／倒産した.

He and another director 首尾よく took over the company’s hotels and 結局 created the small, upmarket Cap Maison.
