The father of three who died from a 嫌疑者，容疑者／疑うd heart during a triathlon, にもかかわらず the 成果／努力s of bystanders who tried to rescucitate him on the beach, had undergone a six-month training schedule to compete in his first event.

Peter Farlecas, from Victoria, was pulled unconscious from the water at Mooloolaba beach on Queensland's 日光 Coast on Sunday after nearby 観客s spotted him 直面する 負かす／撃墜する in the surf.

In 前線 of friends and family, 含むing his wife Luisa, the event's 医療の team 試みる／企てるd to save the IT 顧問, 成し遂げるing CPR, but after half an hour he was pronounced dead at the scene.

Nine News 報告（する）／憶測d the father of three, was competing with about 15 other 同僚s from an IT systems availability 商売／仕事, who only 設立する out about his death as they crossed the finish line.

'Four guys stripped off and ran in and were putting their 手渡す up and were waiting for boat,' a 証言，証人／目撃する told Nine News.

Ironman Asia 太平洋の CEO Geoff Meyer told ABC News that the 39-year-old man from Victoria 苦しむd a 嫌疑者，容疑者／疑うd heart attack during the swim 行う／開催する／段階 of the Ironman 70.3 event at about 7:30am on Sunday.

'It's been a real 悲劇 we have had a death in the swim today,' Mr Meyer said.

'He had been lost a 重要な 量 of 負わせる and had been training for six months.'

The man was swimming the 1.9 kilometre 脚 of the challenge when he started to show he was struggling.

He was then pulled from the water unconscious.

'医療の team worked on the gentleman for over half an hour,'Mr Meyer said.

'The thoughts from the 医療の team that it was a heart attack.'

The man was treated by Paramedics but did not survive. It is thought he suffered a heart attack

Surprisingly the race was not stopped and 'went on as normal' Mr Meyer said.

'There's going to be a lot of sadness around, family and friends and we are trying to help all the individuals through this really trying time,' he said.

Police are 調査／捜査するing but have 確認するd the death is not suspcious.

The Ironman 70.3 event held at Mooloolaba Beach 伴う／関わるd a 1.9km swim followed by a 90km bike ride and a 21.1km run.

The next event will be held in Port Macquarie north of Sydney on October 19.
