Peter Farlecas, from Victoria, was pulled unconscious from the water at Mooloolaba beach on Queensland's 日光 Coast on Sunday after nearby 観客s spotted him 直面する 負かす/撃墜する in the surf.

In 前線 of friends and family, 含むing his wife Luisa, the event's 医療の team 試みる/企てるd to save the IT 顧問, 成し遂げるing CPR, but after half an hour he was pronounced dead at the scene.

Ironman Asia 太平洋の CEO Geoff Meyer told ABC News that the 39-year-old man from Victoria 苦しむd a 嫌疑者,容疑者/疑うd heart attack during the swim 行う/開催する/段階 of the Ironman 70.3 event at about 7:30am on Sunday.

'It's been a real 悲劇 we have had a death in the swim today,' Mr Meyer said.

The man was swimming the 1.9 kilometre 脚 of the challenge when he started to show he was struggling.

He was then pulled from the water unconscious.

'There's going to be a lot of sadness around, family and friends and we are trying to help all the individuals through this really trying time,' he said.
