British 軍隊／機動隊s 負傷させるd - Iraqis killed

An 調査 has been 開始する，打ち上げるd into a firefight 近づく Basra which left seven British 兵士s 負傷させるd and three Iraqis dead, the 省 of Defence said.

The British 兵士s （機の）カム under small 武器 解雇する／砲火／射撃 while on 決まりきった仕事 patrol in the Qal at Sahil village. They 反応するd and made at least one 逮捕（する） before the 状況／情勢 増大するd, an MoD spokeswoman said.

"A （人が）群がる of people started to gather in the village which is when the 状況／情勢 started to become more 敵意を持った. They called for 支援する up and started to come under 支えるd 激しい 解雇する／砲火／射撃," she said.

The British 軍隊／機動隊s were attacked with 激しい machine guns and a ロケット／急騰する propelled 手りゅう弾, A nearby patrol was called in to get them to safety.

It is thought three Iraqis were 発射 dead during the firefight. It is not known if any more were 負傷させるd, the MoD spokeswoman said.

Four British 兵士s were taken to a 軍の hospital and the remaining three were 扱う／治療するd on a British Army base.

Their 傷害s are 述べるd as 非，不，無-life 脅すing, although some of the 兵士s may be flown home for その上の 治療.

The patrol, from the 1st 大隊, Light Infantry, is based at Paderborn in Germany.

The MoD was unable to say why the fighting broke out or 確認する if any of the Iraqis killed were 非軍事のs.
