Car 爆弾 kills Iraqi 会議 leader

The 長，率いる of the Iraqi 治める／統治するing 会議 has been killed in a car 爆破 today 近づく a US 検問所 in central Baghdad.

Abdel-Zahraa Othman, also known as Izzadine Saleem, was の中で at least four Iraqis killed in the 爆破.

Saleem was a Shiite and leader of the Islamic

Dawa Movement in the southern city of Basra. He was the second member of the US-任命するd 治める／統治するing 会議 to be assassinated since the group was 設立するd last July.

Shock at news

Tony Blair's human 権利s （外交）使節／代表 to Iraq, 労働 MP Ann Clwyd, said she was shocked by the news.

Ms Clwyd held 会談 with Saleem on Thursday and returned from Iraq only at the 週末. "He was an 極端に gentle man and he really is the very last person I would have 推定する／予想するd to be 的d," she said.

"It is shocking because it shows they are able to 的 individuals, even at 検問所s. I am sure the 手渡す-over will still be kept to because that is what the people of Iraq want.

"My sympathies go to his family and friends and all the members of the IGC who are trying to turn Iraq into a 平和的な and democratic country."
