Advice from Mountain 救助(する) England and むちの跡s?

Mr Carroll said: 'This year we have seen やめる a few mountain bikers coming to grief.

'The other thing is this over-依存 on electronic 器具/備品 - people using GPS and mapping on their phones, which is only ever really any good when the phone's got decent signal or 殴打/砲列.

'You speak to some people and they say, 'Yes, we're 井戸/弁護士席 equipped. We've got shorts and a T-shirt.' That's not really 井戸/弁護士席 equipped.

'There's an element of people just not understanding the 条件s - how much different it is on the 最高の,を越す of Coniston Old Man compared to walking 負かす/撃墜する a road in the village.'

On the 'Mountain 救助(する) England and むちの跡s' website, it 勧めるs readers to only us their 動きやすい phones for making 緊急 calls - not for 地図/計画する-reading.

It reads: 'A 地図/計画する and compass are 必須の 道具 and should be easily accessible - not buried in the rucksack!

'A 動きやすい phone and GPS are useful 道具s but don't rely on your 動きやすい to get you out of trouble - in many areas of the mountains there is no signal ニュース報道.

'Your 動きやすい phone may not be the most reliable way of calling for help.

'殴打/砲列s can very quickly run flat and signal ニュース報道 in the hills is still a 攻撃する,衝突する and 行方不明になる 事件/事情/状勢.

'That said, the use of 動きやすいs has grown enormously in the last ten years and the 大多数 of calls for mountain 救助(する) help are made by 動きやすい.

'The days of running 負かす/撃墜する the hill to the nearest telephone box to 召喚する help - it would appear - are 井戸/弁護士席 and truly over!'

Lake 地区 救助(する)s in 最近の months have 含むd a cyclist who got lost in Grizedale Forest, unprepared walker s who became disorientated in もや on Coniston Old Man and a request to look for a 行方不明の dog.

The team's 44th callout (機の)カム during the last August bank holiday 週末.

Safety 助言者, Heather Morning, said: 'Aside from the 制限s of 殴打/砲列 life, 歓迎会 and 限界s on using touch 審査するs with gloves on, the 問題/発行する lies with people, and their ability - or 欠如(する) of ability - in basic 航海 技術s.

'A GPS, smartphone or 航海 app is unable to read important subtleties, such as a sensible 大勝する choice.

'Unless you have already used your navigational abilities to programme in an exact 大勝する, it won't direct you away from cliffs or show you the best place to cross a river - or 申し込む/申し出 a n 代案/選択肢 if a 橋(渡しをする) is 負かす/撃墜する or the river is in flood.'

The mountain 救助(する) team covering Britain's highest 頂点(に達する) also 非難するd 記録,記録的な/記録する call-outs on the fact walkers rely on smartphones instead of learning to read a 地図/計画する.

Lochaber Mountain 救助(する) in Scotland, whose area 含むs 4,409ft Ben Nevis, is 普通は called out between 70 and 100 times a year. But by last week it had dealt with 103 警報s in 2015.

Team leader John Stevenson said that 同様に as the usual 問題/発行するs of bad 天候 and 'slips and trips', smartphones were 原因(となる)ing 航海 problems.

He said: '航海 has been a big 問題/発行する this year. People should know how to use a 地図/計画する and compass and not be relying on 動きやすい phones.

'Another big problem has been people not leaving (警察などへの)密告,告訴(状) about where in the hills they are going.

'We are having to search big areas because of that.'

Earlier this year, the 登山 会議 of Scotland asked people not to rely on smartphones and GPS 装置s as 航海 道具s in the hills.

It 勧めるd hillwalkers not already 詩(を作る)d in the use of a 地図/計画する and compass to learn the 技術.
