Families 'not getting value for money', says Howard

Hard working families feel "hard 圧力(をかける)d and hard done by" under the 労働 政府, Tory leader Michael Howard 警告するd today as he attacked Mr Blair's 法律を制定する programme.

In 審議 on the Queen's Speech, Mr Howard said: "People are 支払う/賃金ing a lot more in 税金 and they aren't getting value for money.

"Hard working families are 支払う/賃金ing the 同等(の) of £5,000 a year more in 税金. But what have they got to show for it - a million 患者s still on NHS waiting 名簿(に載せる)/表(にあげる)s, a million children playing truant from school and a million violent 罪,犯罪s.

"It's no wonder that hard working families feel hard 圧力(をかける)d and hard done by under this 政府.

"People are fed up with talk, they want 活動/戦闘."

The 全体にわたる reaction to the 法律を制定する programme in the run-up to a 総選挙 would be "港/避難所't we heard it all before?" he said.

The 政府 had had more than enough time to "get a 支配する" on the problems 直面するing Britain but had failed to do so.

"What the country wants to know is - when will you de 肝臓?

"If it took Winston Churchill five years to 勝利,勝つ the second world war, and if it took Clement Attlee six years to build the 福利事業 明言する/公表する - surely seven and a half years is more than enough for you to get a 支配する on the problems that 直面する Britain today.

"In a year or so we're going to have an 選挙 when people will say: we've paid a lot of 税金s but what's really been 達成するd with all that money?"

In 返答, The 総理大臣 said he was more than happy to compare the 記録,記録的な/記録する of his 政府 on 配達するing 改良s with that of the previous Tory 行政.

"Bank of England independence, 慎重な 経済的な 管理/経営 and the New 取引,協定 have 配達するd the lowest 利益/興味 率s, lowest インフレーション, lowest 失業 for 10年間s.

"Living 基準s of every section of the 全住民 are up; that's 配達/演説/出産 after seven and a half years."

He said 連続する 後退,不況s had been 取って代わるd by 支えるd 経済成長 and two million 職業s had been 伸び(る)d compared to one million lost when Mr Howard was in 力/強力にする.

Spending per pupil had 増加するd by £800 in real 条件 under 労働, に引き続いて Tory 削減(する)s, and NHS waiting 名簿(に載せる)/表(にあげる)s had fallen by 300,000, after a rise of 400,000 before 1997.

"Of course there are still problems, you について言及するd one, MRSA, but after years in which the NHS was run 負かす/撃墜する, its services 使い果たすd, its training 削減(する), its buildings unrenewed, we now have the 国家の Health Service on its way 支援する thanks to the 投資 and 改革(する) under this 政府.

"Look at the new wings in the hospitals; the biggest building programme in the NHS since it was formed."

Britain was also 主要な the way in relieving third world 負債, he told MPs.
