'Why did Dad send me 支援する to the school if he knew I'd been 強姦d?': Actor Donald Sinden's son on the horror of 存在 乱用d by his headmaster - and the horrific secret his father took to the 墓／厳粛／彫る／重大な?

When Marc Sinden, the actor son of much-loved theatrical knight Donald Sinden, 設立する himself playing a paedophile priest in a new film, 所有物／資産／財産 Of The 明言する／公表する, he was flooded with painful and 以前 half-buried memories.

Now 61 and a 井戸／弁護士席-尊敬（する）・点d actor, director and writer in his own 権利, Marc has only recently come to 条件 with the boyhood ordeal which has blighted his life.

For not only does he 明らかにする／漏らす for the first time that he was viciously 強姦d at the age of eight by the headmaster at his prep school. But he also 自白するs that he is haunted by the 恐れる his father may have sent him 支援する to his tormentor in the 十分な knowledge he had been attacked.

?Marc had been sent to Edgeborough, a prep school in Frensham, Surrey, by a father who was one of Britain’s 最高の，を越す box office 星／主役にするs for more than half a century, famed as an actor who could 具体的に表現する a 確かな stiff-upper-lipped Englishness.

Sir Donald, who died 老年の 90 last year, appeared in such stirring 戦時 epics as The Cruel Sea and Above Us The Waves and cosy TV sitcoms like Never the Twain. Yet his origins were humble, growing up above a 化学者／薬剤師’s shop in Sussex.

Perhaps that’s why he took such pride in 存在 able to 支払う／賃金 for his sons Marc and Jeremy to get the 適切な時期s he never had in the 形態／調整 of a 私的な education. Strangely, the cathartic moment that 許すd Marc to 直面する his demons （機の）カム when two police officers from the celebrity sex 罪，犯罪 調査 操作／手術 Yewtree visited him at home to question him about a fellow actor （刑事）被告 of making 不適切な approaches to an actress.

A perceptive officer asked him whether he 手配中の，お尋ね者 to talk about something else. I took the officers 支援する in time to the 冷淡な, 荒涼とした day in 1962 when my parents dropped me at the doors to that wretched school, with my trunk and my tuck box, and drove away.

‘I remembered the first 恐ろしい night in the 寄宿舎 ? the sobbing, the whimpering, the howls of 苦痛 from all the other boys, who had, like me, never before spent so much as a day away from their homes, without their parents. One was clasping his teddy 耐える and our cruel 寄宿舎 captain grabbed it from him and threw it out of the window.’

The school was 居住させるd by characters who wouldn’t have seemed out of place in a Dickens novel. ‘There was a 行方不明になる Charlton, the matron, who was known as Chalky as she always wore very white make-up. There was a Col. 石／投石する, the one-武装した PE teacher, who gave us what we called rabbit punches: karate chops to the 支援する of the 長，率いる which would give you a 頭痛 for the 残り／休憩（する） of the day.’

The young Sinden started to come to the attention of Charles Mitchell, the tall, cadaverous headmaster with brilliantined hair. He had a cheerless wife whom the boys got used to seeing putting out 捕らえる、獲得するs clinking with the empty gin 瓶／封じ込めるs the two of them used to 消費する together in 広大な 量s.

Sinden remembers these individuals coming 支援する unsteady on their feet and looking pale. One night Mitchell stopped at Sinden’s bed. ‘There were no words spoken. Marc was too afraid to tell anyone about it. Once again, she didn’t ask questions. Just some antiseptic and that was that.’

Owen 支えるもの／所有者 went to London to talk to Donald Sinden. Marc knew nothing about it until the late 90s, when his former wife Jo 明らかにする／漏らすd that his mother, Diana, had confided in her. ‘I suppose to excuse the coldness that Jo had said she had seen in me,’ he said.

‘Dear Dad, I loved him so much, but that was just how he was.’
