追跡（する） out those 2p coins as 巡査 prices 急に上がる

British shoppers have long 見解（をとる）d penny and 2p coins as little more than a nuisance, but 急に上がるing 巡査 prices made rummaging around the 支援するs of sofas a little more worthwhile today.

The price of 巡査 has risen so high that 1p and 2p pieces are now more 価値のある on the 商品／必需品s market than on the high street.

And those who have "looked after the pennies" could find themselves sitting on more than they 推定する／予想するd - a 2p coin is now 価値（がある） 3p.

巡査 coins made before 1992 are 97 per cent 巡査, which means that each 2p coin 含む／封じ込めるs 6.9 grams of the metal and each penny piece 含む／封じ込めるs 3.45 grams.

To get a tonne of 巡査 it would take 145,000 2p coins or 290,000 1p coins, giving a 額面価格 of £2,900.

But if the same coins were sold for their metal content they would collect almost £4,500, after the price of 巡査 攻撃する，衝突する a fresh high of 8,312 US dollars (£4,463) a tonne today.

巡査 分析家 Ingrid Sternby, of Barclays 資本／首都, said: "巡査 is 狙撃 はっきりと higher today に引き続いて yesterday's impressive 伸び（る）s. The price has 嵐／襲撃するd through the 8,000 US dollars (£4,295) a tonne 示す."

"The 巡査 market is so tight that you have to get it from somewhere, although coins are the last res ort," she said.
