A milestone of courage for Josie Russell

Josie Russell has told how she has built a new life and taken the major step of finding a home of her own.

The 19-year-old has bought a two-bedroom house and no longer lives with her father, 55-year-old Dr Shaun Russell.

The move comes ten years after Josie 生き残るd a savage 大打撃を与える attack by mentally-ill Michael 石/投石する which killed her mother Lin and six-year-old sister Megan.

She was so 不正に 傷つける that police 最初 thought she was dead, and doctors 疑問d she would 生き残る.

But Josie 証明するd them wrong and has blossomed into a young woman with a new 職業, a 19-year-old student boyfriend and 計画(する)s to start a university course and design jewellery and fashion 従犯者s.

But her most 重要な step has been the 決定/判定勝ち(する) to move out of the family home.

Josie has bought her own house 近づく Bangor, North むちの跡s, with money from the 犯罪の 傷害s 補償(金) board. She said: 'I had a moving-in party and 32 people (機の)カム. It was brilliant. Nobody 難破させるd anything. I love having my own space - it helps me to move on.

'But the house needs a lot doing to it. Dad is helping me and I've already decorated my own bedroom. I chose purple for the 塀で囲むs and I've even got my own four-poster bed.'

also killed. Lin Russell and her daughters were attacked in a country 小道/航路 in Nonington, Kent, as they walked home from Josie's school.

Josie said: 'People tell me I look like my mother but it doesn't make me feel funny. It's nice because I'm keeping the memory alive. いつかs I see photos and I think of the good times. My little sister would be 17 now and I いつかs wonder what she would look like.' She said

'I remember him asking Lin for money. He tied us up and said he would just leave us, but he didn't.

'I don't have nightmares anymore. I try not to think too much because いつかs if you think, you get upset.'
