Blair 捨てるs Jay's 部隊 for women

Tony Blair is 予定 to 取り去る／解体する his women's 部隊 after the next 選挙, に引き続いて 激しい 批評 of the way it has been run by Baroness Jay.

Lady Jay has already 発表するd she is leaving the 閣僚 at the next 選挙 - 説 she wants to spend more time with her family.

But she has come in for stinging 批評 both within and outside Whitehall for some of the 率先s she has 長，率いるd up during her time as 大臣 for Women - 含むing spending £100,000 on advising women looking for work to go to a JobCentre.

Now women's groups have been 警告するd they can 推定する／予想する a 過激な change to the 部隊, part of the 閣僚 Office, after the 選挙.

Its 未来 has been in question for several months. The 総理大臣 is understood to have been unhappy with it and wants to 取って代わる it with a 部隊 that would 取り組む 差別 against both sexes.

One women MP said: 'There has been unhappiness in the leadership about the 部隊 for some time.

'It is felt it is time to move on and 始める，決める up a new group to 取り組む 差別 in a broader way.'

Many of its 率先s have earned the derision of both the 圧力（をかける） and 圧力団体s.

In June last year a 団体／死体 image 首脳会議, ーするつもりであるd to 演説（する）／住所 the problems of anorexia の中で girls, was 影を投げかけるd when Tessa Jowell, who helps run the 部隊 as part of her 役割 as 大臣 in the Department of Education and 雇用, spoke of setting up an 産業 会議 to count the number of fat and thin models used by the マスコミ.

The 部隊 also spent £100,000 of taxpayers' money telling women looking for work to go to the 職業-Centre or look in the Vacancies columns of newspapers. The advice was 手渡すd out at a high-profile 展示.

The 部隊 also produced the magazine 発言する／表明するs - again costing nearly £100,000 - telling women not to call themselves housewives because the 称する，呼ぶ／期間／用語 was 'outmoded' and demeaning.

Tessa Jowell, in her women's 部隊 役割, also advised the 総理大臣 to speak at the Women's 学校／設ける 会議／協議会.

It turned out to be a public relations 災害 when Mr Blair was jeered and slow 手渡す-clapped. However, the move to 廃止する the 部隊 was 迎える／歓迎するd with 狼狽 by women's groups.

Mary Ann Stephenson, of the Fawcett Society which advises the 政府 on equality 問題／発行するs, said she 推定する／予想するd to see an 'equality' 部隊 in place after the next 選挙. 'We still need a 部隊 with 責任／義務 for women's 問題／発行するs,' she said.

Baroness Jay has also attracted 論争 for some of her 声明s while 実行するing her other 役割, as Leader of the House of Lords.

She said she had …に出席するd a 'pretty 基準 grammar school' when she had in fact gone to a 料金-支払う／賃金ing girls' school.

She said she understood 田舎の 問題／発行するs as she had a 'little house in the country'. In fact, she owns a £500,000 home in Ireland and a large house in the Chilterns.

閣僚 Office 大臣 Mo Mowlam has also 発表するd she is stepping 負かす／撃墜する and Mr Blair is 推定する／予想するd to 任命する more women to the 閣僚 after the 選挙 to 保持する a balance 一連の会議、交渉／完成する the （米）棚上げする／（英）提議する.
