Police are on the brink of collating enough 証拠 to 告発(する),告訴(する)/料金 上級の 労働 人物/姿/数字s over (人命などを)奪う,主張するs that peerages were 'sold' to 豊富な businessmen.

John Yates, the 探偵,刑事 長,率いるing the cash-for-peerages 調査, has told MPs that he has 得るd 80 per cent of the 証拠 needed to pass a とじ込み/提出する to 検察官,検事s.

The 発覚 that Scotland Yard is on the 瀬戸際 of 圧力(をかける)ing ahead with 告発(する),告訴(する)/料金s will send shockwaves around 負かす/撃墜するing Street.

探偵,刑事s are 調査/捜査するing whether Tony Blair and his 最高の,を越す 公式の/役人s broke the 法律 by covering up secret 貸付金s before 指名するing businessmen for peerages.

上級の 労働 party 人物/姿/数字s have 個人として 主張するd that 探偵,刑事s are on a 'fishing 探検隊/遠征隊' and will not 暴露する any 悪事を働くこと.

But sources の近くに to the 調査 have 明らかにする/漏らすd that Mr Yates has 内密に 簡潔な/要約するd MPs on the powerful Public 行政 委員会 that he is 確信して of collating enough 証拠 to bring 告発(する),告訴(する)/料金s.

A 上級の 人物/姿/数字 told the Daily Mail: "Yates told the MPs that he was 80 per cent of the way there. He said people had been surprised all the way through this 調査 and they would be surprised by the way it ended."

The 爆発性の 要点説明 is understood to have taken place weeks before Mr Yates published a letter 明らかにする/漏らすing the police had 暴露するd '重要な and 価値のある 構成要素'.

Mr Yates' 発言/述べるs are the strongest 指示,表示する物 yet that 上級の 労働 人物/姿/数字s - 含むing the 総理大臣 - could be 告発(する),告訴(する)/料金d with 汚職, the 違法な sale of honours or 誤った accounting.

Mr Blair is 推定する/予想するd to be interviewed by police under 警告を与える in the next few weeks.

In his letter, which was published two weeks ago, Mr Yates said he would 手渡す a とじ込み/提出する to the 栄冠を与える 起訴 Service in January. But he has 警告するd that 探偵,刑事s could continue the 調査(する) beyond that date.

He wrote: "The investigative team have and continue to 可決する・採択する a 徹底的な, methodical and impartial approach to the investigati on. This has resulted in the 取得/買収 of 重要な and 価値のある 構成要素 in relation to the 開発 of the 調査.

"予定 to the 可能性 of 未来 犯罪の 訴訟/進行s and the need for その上の 調査s to be undertaken, I do not believe it would be appropriate to comment その上の."

The fact that his team has 明らかにするd 重要な 構成要素 will send a 冷気/寒がらせる through a string of 労働 人物/姿/数字s at the centre of the 調査.

The 総理大臣 is the only member of his 2005 閣僚 not to have been 接触するd by police.

His 長,指導者 fundraiser Lord 徴収する, 長,指導者 of staff Jonathan Powell and former 労働 General 長官 Matt Carter are also at the heart of the 調査(する).

The three people 逮捕(する)d so far are Lord 徴収する, 政府 city 学院s 助言者 Des Smith and millionaire 寄贈者 Sir Christopher Evans.

The 栄冠を与える 起訴 Service could (問題を)取り上げる to six months to decide if they will 圧力(をかける) ahead with 告発(する),告訴(する)/料金s after police を引き渡す the とじ込み/提出する.

This raises the prospect that Mr Blair will be spared the humiliation of 告発(する),告訴(する)/料金s 存在 laid before he leaves 負かす/撃墜するing Street.

Since the 調査 was 誘発する/引き起こすd in March this year, Mr Yates's team has interviewed 90 people - 35 労働 Party 公式の/役人s and 大臣s, 29 from the 保守的な Party, four Lib Dems and 22 who are not members of any party.

Earlier this week, 選挙(人)の (売買)手数料,委託(する)/委員会/権限 文書s 明らかにする/漏らすd that 労働 安全な・保証するd millions of 続けざまに猛撃するs in secret 貸付金s from 豊富な 支持者s at 'soft' 率s.

Party accounts showed that 労働 borrowed £14million at cheaper 利益/興味 率s than those 申し込む/申し出d by High Street banks.

The party has saved nearly £500,000 by taking the money from millionaire 支援者s rather than on a 商業の basis.

詳細(に述べる)s of the 削減(する)-price 利益/興味 率s fuelled 疑惑s that the 貸付金s were not 本物の and should have been 公表する/暴露するd as 寄付s.
